What was Diablo 2's endgame for you?
Spending a small age to get myself dual bartucs and rares that added +level to my assassin kicks.
Getting really pissed off at missing out on picking anything up during a baal run. Frozen orb. Stealing things people were trying to mule in rogue encampment. Being a cool necromancer. Making my first runeword. Moo. well I guess i can contribute a bit since i was a big time d2 player.
to me end game was mostly pvp. i participated for years on the ZvZ ladder. i also was part of the BvB ladder but not as much as i played my zon. i participated on many FPK tournaments held by D2Duel and other third party servers. And the occasional 4v4 GM duels. ALWAYS FPK. Leveling wise, before enigma and Cows XP nerf, that was it. Basically leveling untill you hit 99. I had 2 characters 99. one was my zon and other was a assassin on HC. After 1.10 basically it was all BAAL runs because of enigma and Cows xp nerf. those are the 2 things i always considered END GAME. Last edited by BuDiu#0138 on Sep 10, 2013, 10:38:16 AM

Endgame was fun because it was not just MAP MAP MAP MAP MAP MAP MAP
you could baal run, chaos, cow for mf you could do any boss that you wanted in a minimal time when you were bored, pvp time bored of pvp? PK time! not really into Mfing? lets craft and make runewords and trade em |

D2 endgame was better then POE by far and this is why.
Grinding exp in baal runs was grinding and feels very much like poe's end game. This part is done well. Mfing did not feel like poe at all, It was fast, rewarding, like rolling a slot machine. You got tons of low lv uniques, a couple good mid lv ones, and a great one if lucky. Little risk, fun, instant gratification. Poe combines lving with mfing and it has the same feel as grinding to me. long, drawn out, dangerous, with very little feel of reward after farming. PvP Poe has Zero if you ask me, no one is ever in line and no one cares about pvping because there in no match making system, online ladder type system, or anything that keeps track of wins/loses. D2 even though had some balance issues still had great pvp. I loved lving up 30-50 pvpers in hardcore just to go duel until I died. Pking with a pally charger and hunting people down by tracking dead bodies was all kinds of fun. Me and my brother killed a 89 barb with 3 hits double teaming him with 35ish pallys with charge and knockback, one of 1000's of ears lol. The main thing I take away from this is that D2 had aspects of the game which felt completely different from other aspects, which means swapping feels like taking a break and is less boring. POE feels the same if I'm grinding, lving, mfing, racing, or thinking about the pvp that isn't there lol. |

Oh man. Diablo 2 was a great game. I didn't bother with the drops/grind/pvp or whatever, as long as i could bone prison the entire screen and spam bone spirits/spear afterwards, i was happy.
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

I never found an "end-game" in D2. "End" to me would have been running out of interesting characters to build given the crap that was in my stash or seemed reasonably achievable.
I farmed to keep my overall account loaded with goodies so I could build oft-times ridiculous hardcore builds and see if I could make them work... which ended up being costly in gear LOL. So lots of farming. I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

D2's endgame was Median.
Y'all are stupid if you stuck with vanilla cLoD all these years. |

Mindless, painful Baal runs. I called it quits after boring myself to tears because of that.
The ARPG genre's biggest flaw is endgame content. I've still yet to see a developer get it right, but GGG seems to be figuring out a solution and maybe heading in the right direction. Still, the grind gets old and I haven't played POE in weeks. |

people are fine with games that last for 50-60 hours but when it comes to ARPG, they suddenly ask for endless end game.
I find it very amusing |

I played some median and used Jamella for solo play because oh, drops were really horrible offline.
