PoE 2 servers are restarting now. They should be back up in approximately .

What was Diablo 2's endgame for you?

Pub stomp, Clan duels, endless Baal runs, G rush and level jobs, Trading, chatting, channel bots and clan wars, recruiting, harassing noobs, Ubers.

Baal Runs.

in 1.09, it was Cows and PvP for myself. Later on it was Dclone, PvP, baal runs and making alts. I stopped before they introduced the keys and whatever else they added.

I'm confused as to what the D2 veterans here think the endgame in D2 was.

I used to think endgame was PvP, but a lot of people here think it wasdoing baal runs to get better items to do more baal runs to do more baal runs.

PvE.
- Join Game
- 1 Sorc ports to Baal
- 1 Sorc Mephi/Andi (MF)
- 2 Highest Char doing Nilathak/Diablo (All had Enigma anyway)
- 2 Highest Chars kill Baal

Repeat.

Edit: Compared to Poe-Endgame, it was a joke. In Poe you can usually run continuosly 66-70 maps, whereby every map differs from each other.

Mostly PvP.

Baal/Chaos/MF runs and ubers were something to do.

But yeah mostly PvP for sure. Honestly what could be considered more "endgame" than fighting other players to test your characters?

The PvE in D2 was laughable 99% of the time.

Yes, the endgame was PvP. To say it wasn't means you wern't any good and couldn't compete.

Other than PvP, it was ubers>DWTE>Rushes
After 9 years of playing D2 I decided to start hardcore+selffound with 2 friends, never had so much fun.
Made ~19 DTail-Assasins because I ripped "sometimes", but we managed to get to hell, act 4 .... nostalgia.

You make it sound like we had choices...
D2 end game was rushing people for forges, because you consistently made more than you could farming.

Rares were junk, and you were looking for a small handful of valuable unique items that could sell for a HR or more. Very, very narrow range of possible drops that could get you a payout.

D2's endgame for me was lowlvl PVP/PK'ing and MF runs (bot) to trade =p (on hardcore of course).

I haven't been playing POE for even a month and I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up playing the new hardcore league... soft core leagues always get boring (d2/d3). I think the introduction of an "uber" type of optional boss might help! (but only for so long). eventually you will have done everything and it's that time that you need to take a break till the new league starts.

The thing with most potential in POE is the leagues.. with a fresh start and new ideas, I'm sure it's fun. I joined too late for this season, but on Mar 5th I'll definitely be on the league
