Character names, where did yours come from?

If it's any consolation, I've been talking to a chap called Samppa with regards to implanting an Oyster card in my hand.

Derbefrier was a suggestion from a friend. I dont think it means anything i just thought it was cool


I also used Mongul for years and still use it for alts which came from the villain of the same name in the Superman comics. I was still in high school when i decided to use that as i was a big super man fan and Mongul was the big green guy that helped the cyborg superman to blow up coast city and cause the original green lantern to go insane, if i remember correctly.

It was one of my old City of Heroes characters. The actual name came up when I asked my friend for a last name, already knowing I'd use the first name Clive. He suggested Howlitzer, accidentally making a typo on the word Howitzer and thus, it stuck.

DDSSEE comes from Dudesee, a name that I came up with when I was like 3-4. Eventually, I got lazy and started to write it as DDSSEE.

My Fire_And_Ice witch came from me originally wanting to make a dual elemental witch, but I ended up going to ice. I didn't like my build so I switched to spark.

Euler's Identity is named after e^(ipi)+1=0, because it is amazing.

When I was like 11 or 12 I found a Dragon Name generator based on my real name. That's how I got Drexore lol...I sometimes go by Drex. Most of my friends and old guildmates from WoW usally call me Drex or my real name.

it all goes back to 2001, when my english was shit, and i was playing " the amazing spider-man." i got to the first save point, and named the save file "SPY." ever since then all of my online nicks contained "spy" in one form or another...


the sir part came from me trying to name my account something different for a change...

This is my name in games for three reasons. The first one being that a friend took my original name to be a jerk. The second reason being that my spacebar on my keyboard was dying and I was too lazy too retype it with spaces, or it was too long with spaces in some cases. The last reason was a long running joke at work that I was raised by wolves LMFAO.

I've changed my online nick a few times over the course of my time "online".

In the BBS days (showing my age here) I was Myrmidon, which was me managing like many others to misspell what I was aiming for. I was trying for Myrmidion which means warrior in ancient Greece.

I read the Odyssey and went to Telemachus during my counterstrike phase, but as with names like that eventually it seemed that too many other people were also using it.

I was making a priest on WoW and I was planning to go shadow and Ravenhurst from the Court Jester was what I had in mind, but the context would be lost on most people and just sound emo.

I was stuck on hurst though and ended up with Crotonhurst, only afterwards making the connection that it was the name of a street near my grandparent's place that I just have seen withoout looking hundreds of times.

Currently as far as I can tell, if you see Crotonhurst mentioned in relation to games, it's probably me.

Mine is something I mixed up from various thing (full name is Lithary Alumeamorimor).
The story is really long, but if you take my name, I will cut you. ^_^
