Kripp banned from GW2
Yesterday, people found a way to convert karma to gold at a good rate via cooking.
Kripp used the exploit live on stream and received a 3-day ban for advertising an exploit. His followers are harassing ANet in response. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

kinda hilarious but rather unfair, he tried it once and earned 8 gold, people who earned 100+ gold didn't get banned, lols.
and for the lulz. ![]() and yeah he said he would just play poe instead, no problem. xD I play games... shocked, i know. Last edited by burgundy#7027 on Aug 30, 2012, 12:16:17 PM

The others might have gotten banned to, we just don't know. ANet didn't announce they banned Kripp, we only know because he told us.
Also, he was banned for advertising the exploit, not using it technically. ... I like Kripp's steam. I just don't think he realizes that being the popular streamer he is means he needs to approach gaming a little different than the rest of us. It's like an athlete and strip clubs. He is always under a watchful eye and everything he does will be scrutinized. This forum is no different. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

incredibly stupid and short sighted of GW2
I'm sure there are people who are undecided on GW2 but who are fans of Kripp are buying GW2 just because of Kripps's videos he's been a big promoter of GW2 and they ban him for something stupid Last edited by jamesl#0818 on Aug 30, 2012, 1:14:33 PM

They banned him for advertising an exploit. What's so weird about that?

" Exploits and cheating aside, it brought the game publicity, which increases sales. |

" ANet is not hurting for sales numbers with or without Kripp. His streaming PoE certainly increased revenue for GGG, but when Kripp plays games like D3 or GW2, the game is bringing viewers and profit to him, not the other way around. " Yes, due to the publicity of a member, they should be immune to punishment. Give me a damned break. The use of an exploit, the promotion of an exploit, or even the explanation of how to use an exploit and giving either yourself and/or others an advantage over the general player base should never be condoned or overlooked. Those who make a name for themselves bending or breaking mechanics, as well as taking advantage of mechanic or feature flaws SHOULD be punished. Regardless of who they are, and/or whom they believe themselves to be. A mere 'Welcome back to PoE' is a sad response. You may as well hang a sign on the door inviting all who look to abuse a game. ...narf Last edited by SqueakyToyOfTerror#0940 on Aug 30, 2012, 2:05:56 PM

I assume this is the only thing you can buy with karma that can be then sold to other players or NPCs?
Additionally, it would have to be well-known and intentioned that Karma should not be traded or converted to Gold. Without those two factors, I fail to see how it's an exploit. If you have account problems please Email Support
