Your tone suggests to me that you like Dragon's build a lot so you should give that a go. Personally I like Dragon's build a lot, but I will use Aux's Artic Ranger build for the new HC league, and later try out Dragon's build once I get the shield. Also Dragon's build will suit those who like to face tank and melee, as EK cast time is quite long, and players like to pew pew including myself may not like the slow motion lol... I could actually afford most of the gear in Dragon's build, besides the soul taker on SC now, but I decided to wait to try out the new league instead. In fact, if the mana shield that is introduced in 1.0.0 is to take damage in your mana pool instead of life, then Artic Armor + AA shield + big mana pool will be invincible! Anvil ranger does not have ES so AA Shield is out of the question and Dragon's build does not have a big mana pool and can't support Arctic Armor(That I know of.) Well if Manashield use mana to take damage, then you dont need ES. Since E battery converts ES to mana, AA shield will gain ES, which turns in to mana, so you can support Artic shield while have AA replenish mana, and use mana shield to take hits. Yeah with the new Mana Shield, mana becomes even more important, and maybe drop one of the auras like Hatred or something... Clarity giving only 20 odd mana per second for 440 mana, I think that can go...
