If anything, I was pretty surprised at how 'meh' the gear was just now when I checked out the op. I was expecting a bunch of gg stuff after watching some of the vids, and it's all average at best for the most part. More credit to the build given it's one that anyone can put together with an ex or two.

I've actually only compared it to similar EK EB builds. If completely different specs can be compared as you say, so can the currency investment in said gear. Either everything can be compared, or nothing can.

Its absolutely retarded what you say, they are both ek builds and both tank builds too. Your mentality does not make sense, so I cant compare a 500hp factory ferrari and a 500hp modded nsx just because one costs half a million more?

I really like this build and the general idea behind it,alongside the Aegis Aurora build its really nice to see a proper tank charter that can take so much punishment with ease.

The only thing i dont like is using EK,its such a boring and sloppy skill to use imho.Especially if youre not taking any crit and faster casting nodes.
Needing level 20 gems (and even with high quality) in order to decently clear out low lvl 66-67 maps just seems off to me.

No you can definitely compare something without factoring in the cost if that is what you want. Dragon´s build may be better with top-notch gear, but mvm compared those 2 in their current gear. He concluded that a 2 ex build is worse than a 50 ex build and he is right, who would have thought that? The outcome is very surprising to all of us.

@dualestl there are a lot of crit nodes next to the tree and you already got ballistic mastery so you could give freeze pulse a try. It will supplay you with even more defense, but ele reflect will be a pain, even if you use a cold to fire gem to reduce it a bit. Another option is to use a melee skill, but the build isn´t optimized for neither of those so your results will be mediocre at best.

Your sarcasm and wanton dry wit doesnt impress me. First off, its not a 50 exalt build, you are all overinflating prices on purpose. You can get by with <15 exalt. SOL costs nothing, AA and strides are 4 ex tops TOGETHER, and you can have it with a weapon that costs a few gcps. The rest is up to you if you want to spend xx exalt per slot or not.

To me it seems you are pretty pissed I compared it to his build, so you have to use cost as some desperate attempt at denying how inferior this build is, in both terms of tanking and dps.

You are arguing that his build can be done with less expensive which is true without doubt, but I can´t see a video of it or any comparison by you which would make me believe that the 2 build with equal gear have different qualities. Btw. you don´t need 20/20 gems, in the video he used shitty gems and still showed off how tanky this build is.

Aside from this the IB build has a weakness which this build doesn´t have - ele reflect. If you accidentally blow up 10 mobs who reflect your elemental dmg your character is gonna blow up too. Thats one of the reasons why dragon plays on a standard league.

I never aruged or doubted for a minute that his build is better at tanking than mine. Why wouldn't his be? It requires a higher investment into gear, which should always result in a better / sturdier character. My build is designed to work from day one, basically no matter the gear, and still be powerful at mitigating some of the most dangerous mobs you will face on a regular basis. I know it's a tough concept for you to grasp, but let's figure out how often you run into Tentacle Miscreants or Voidbearers in a typical night of playing. Now let's figure out how many times you will encounter a -max, double boss, gmp Magaera or Piety in your entire time playing this game--assuming of course you play on Onslaught and not Standard where it doesn't matter if you feel suicidal or not regardless of your level. Now let's carefully and rationally decide which one is more likely to occur.

I know your next argument will be that his build can do the same thing! You would be right, but his build cannot do this day 2 or 3 of a brand new league on a new character that doesn't have access to AA.

20 quality gems cost 1 gcp last time I checked. If you are impatient, level 20 gems cost about 10-15 chaos and a 20/20 will cost anywhere from 20-30 chaos. No 20 quality gems are required for this build, it just speeds up the clearing. I see I will probably need to make a new video since everyone is stuck on those old videos in which I was using level 17 EK and The Anvil still clearing level 66 maps on a character that was a week old in a league that I just began playing.

The videos you linked showed Infernal Blow / Double Strike so you are comparing a melee build with a spell-casting build.

Also, your car analogy is pretty hilarious. I can't remember the last time I read an article in a car magazine or anywhere that was pitting a Ferrari against a Pinto.
