I know that the FFA loot always got my heart going when I was in a group of untrustworthy individuals!!! Sometimes angry, but usually very happy and it kept me coming back for more.

Does holding down the alt key block clicking on non-loot items? I can see a scenario where 6 people are crowding round a drop, and while it might be my drop, I keep clicking on other players and lose my drop window.
I always thought that WoW's need/want roll system worked pretty well. |

If all players are in a guild, some sort of "manager" who gets all the loot who can then dish it out to whoever maybe?

Having a timer on item will be a good thing. In diablo2 there was far too many situations where after killing a boss who yield some gear u couldnt even see what he droped, couse bots did very nice job vacuuming stuff.
Funny side of this was that when boss was at his last 1% of hp no one attacked him, ranged got to melee and everyone was waiting with thier alt pushed for someone to finish him. Looting can be fun, but it can be very frustrating... Imagine you missed some unique gear by few mseconds, just because of lagspike. As a gamer I dont mind if it will be ffa or need/greed loot system. But I will appreciate that if I could be able to choose the one I'm comfortable with Last edited by erenhardt#4431 on Aug 18, 2011, 12:01:17 PM

I'm actually really surprised this is up for discussion at all. FFA is an outdated system that was only implemented in Diablo 2 due to tech constraints. Now we all have a feeling of nostalgia towards D2, but do we have to keep every outdated system to stay true to the game? Did people really like FFA looting, or did they just love D2?

I suspect most of the players wanting FFA looting play melee toons who will always have the easiest time getting the lions share.
It doesn't add anything to the immersion or feel of the game to not get a fair cut of rewards simply because of latency or class selection. Some kind of loot rolling would be far more fun. 1 or 2 seconds seems ridiculously short. In the middle of some major fight with dozens of monsters, I have to take my hard core witch into possible death simply to get an even chance at loot? Doesn't seem even to me. The FFA system was one of the worst parts of Diablo 2, which was a great game overall. It encouraged screwed up behavior. How much does it "fit" the gameworld if people stop attacking a major threat so they can be the first to turbo click drops? Yeah that stays with the lore/rp all right.... |

This system sounds great for noob league. Its all about giving choices to the player. Plz set in stone that you skip this system for any other league. Its a "new/unskilled gamer" friendly system and it only belong in the deault(noobydoo) league.

" This is more and more a "Real Gamers" vs "Noobs" discussion and that is so damm ridiculous...as if fairness had anything to do with the level of player skill Or do you want to tell me that chess is also a nooby game because of equallity of chances? (and dont tell me bla thats a boardgame you cant compare that...the maximum of equal conditions for every player is the core aim for every GOOD GAME) |
