They have a specific audience in mind, and will not cater to every type of gamer, that is just not possible. That's just not this game. They're better off doing what they are doing, aiming for a specific gamer and shooting off in that direction, as opposed to flopping around trying to appeal to the masses.

this is the problem, you are NOT catering to casuals if you just let some bad habits from the past (FFA) or the present (grindfest for endgame) go away with your game...

PoE is the easiest game out there (even easiest from RMAHed D3) if

a) make a group of 2-3 friends
b) see a)

this game is NOT HARD at ALL and has NO REAL challenge if you have the above requirement...

having a group of 2-3 friends you have solved

a) FFA loot (unless you like messing with your friends)
b) Map Grindfest and currency map dumps (split them in /2 , /3)

even in D3 if my friend RMAH'd and i didnt' the maps were MORE difficult and carry was harder...

see? there is OTHER thing hard and OTHER thing stupid hard...

ps. 25 docks merci and STILL no map (and i am not counting any 58+ lvl map that i have crossed till i reach there). you can say this is hard, i say this is GRINDFEST for endgame (we are NOT talking about gear..we are talking about end game maps)

Now we are talking about different topics. I was simply stating what they are doing, my opinion aside.

Maps and the "easiness" of the game are different things, and your perfectly acceptable opinions and viewpoints on such matters would and should be better expressed in threads more suited for such topics.

yeah i know that that's why it was a ps.
i was saying that making the game "look" hard doesnt' MAKE it hard (i.e looting pvp)

Of course they can't please everyone and shouldn't try. However this specific issue is obviously very important to a HUGE part of the fanbase. I wonder why they are locking every thread on looting but this one. Because it was completely dominating the forums.

I think its a pretty easy fix that doesn't compromise the game as a whole at all. If it was such a huge problem they wouldn't be discussing it right now.

There are two sides to this fence. Some are ok with and like the loot system. Some are not. The only reason there is a time allotted system right now is that ranged was getting slightly shafted in the previous loot system, complete free for all. That's how they wanted it.
It can dominate the forums as much as you would like, however (incoming personal opinion) I highly doubt, if not expect that GGG will NEVER have instanced loot like so many of you want. It's just not in the stars.

we might be a small minority IN the forums that discuss it, but if you look the public parties about 90% of them are ADVERTISING the loot options (ninjas = kick , ffa only etc)....just check the public parties....the community IS trying to find a workaround for this crap (IMO ofc) system...the problem is that the DEV must see it and SOLVE it for good, this is why WE PAY them to do....we are not here to solve problem (hell i solve problem 10hours per day, ever weekday and i am getting payed for that...)

we are players that want to HAVE FUN
they are DEVS that they want US to have fun and put our precious little bucks to help them materialize their dream of poe

The majority of forum posters want loot options BTW.

Doesn't really matter until GGG comes to the forums and gives their statement of the future for looting. If after 700ish pages their isn't enough feedback for them to come to us with it (either way of the swing) there never will be enough feedback. GGG aren't shy of the forums, they are on this topic which is sad.

First off, you've never had to pay to play this game yet, any donations through micro transactions have been just that, donations.

People only see it as a problem if they have a problem with it, it's not so much the system as the player's view on the system. The community will always find a work around for things, that's just bound to happen. However, whether or not GGG plugs in those types of changes is yet to be determined. The conflict is that it may not be what GGG wants unfortunately. They as the creators, are going for a game they want, how they see it, how they'd wanna play it, which may not be how other want it or want to play it.

It's possible that they're still discussing it, is it not? They won't go out publicly until they have a solid answer, that and probably have had work underway with it and seeing how it does. Anything less will be too unstable to announce.

That simply is not true.

But, its safe to say the majority of most posts that want something make no sense at all.

Example being loot options. Loot 'options' is a bad idea. It needs to be one way or the other for the sake of everyone playing the same game.

At this point i could care less if its instanced loot or not. But if instanced loot becomes available i won't play FFA anymore. So, ffa will become pointless.

Same thing will happen if loot options become available. Everyone will always pick the option that makes it easier for them. No one will gimp themselves if an easier options exists. Unless some HUGE bonus will apply to FFA loot.

GGG should have never added a loot timer in the first place. Is clear as day that this is the biggest problem with the loot system. Any ranged players who knows who to play does not have issues getting a drop.

Its the timer. The timer is what causes the problem mentally for people. I would like to see them remove it for a week to see the actual feed back from that.

this is not entirely truth.....the things you buy from the shop are NOT donations

Donation

an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution.
2.
a gift, as to a fund; contribution.

Gift

something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.

the f2p model is not a charity system, they want to make money from this game (not millions but STILL)
f2p is very popular since you can earn MORE money than b2p/sub models.

and people HAVE problem with FFA because they cant' play the clickfest minigame in their REWARD for killing the mob.

can we all agree to something

What is FFA?

FFA is ENFORCED PvP element in the PvE (PvM) enviroment.

if we can all agree to that is a huge step in this thread
