LoL! Im not paranoid about anything, lol again ... I don´t imagine it is mine, it´s suppose to be mine, cause you know, about 2 seconds ago there was my name on it, oops there is not anymore. How is that not bad?

If you want to make it a legit system, get rid of the timers. How about that? I think it´s better than the timer thing. I don´t like it, if you ask me, but i think the timer is just bad.

And if they keep the timer or get rid of it the game gonna still like a solo game, even if you multi box with "friends".

And the second paragraph it´s true, but you know, you need to loot that orbs my breda, but that orb with my name wans´t suppose to be mine, like you say . . . :)

Its not yours, you had a head start to get it. That’s all. Among friends, they will usually not take something after the timer expires unless you walk away from it etc...

I am fully in support of removing the timers actually. The only redeeming quality of them to me is it would make a "pickit" style program (used in d2 to loot first) less useful.

I have tried multi-boxing in PoE and it’s not very fun or rewarding. Short of having bots follow you around it’s just not very practical. Results may vary I suppose.

Thank you for the rational reply! maybe I did get you wrong.

Because looting options are a GGG rule. You've read Chris's post.

They want the players to be competitive with monsters and against each other. Kicking someone from your party can be considered competitive. If you feel that they are slowing your progress, boot em.

Looting options however imposes a rule on gameplay that cannot be avoided. Even though its an option, it would be forced upon everyone who enters automatically. Where now, they can still "ninja loot" and you can kick. Currently, someone could even be someone you trust to not ninja, but should a mirror drop, they back stab you. This would not be possible with a looting option. Period.

In the current game, there is NEVER a 100% possibility a player won't take something that is allocated to you, than turns to group. Thus, you can never be sure. With an option, this would not be possible.

Lets say you start a guild, where everyone agrees to a set of rules, you could play as per your rules for many years. A mirror drops. Does everyone still abide by your rules?

Figured I would repost this. This is the game design part. This right here. This is why there shouldn't be a loot option.

If players are expected to enforce loot rules we will need to have a loot log so we know who to kick from the group. If GGG will not include loot options please add a loot log and the ability to create a ban list for public groups.

the entire premise and/or motivation behind the feelings expressed in this post are so completely foreign to me I feel like any attempt to understand them would be impossible (to be clear, through no explicit fault of your own) but I'll take a shot at it anyway

"Looting options however imposes a rule on gameplay that cannot be avoided."

Do you know what you are describing here, in fact quite specifically? Free for all loot rules, or really any static setting without an offer of choice. If it were the other way around, and the game currently included, say, a permanent allocation timer, would you play solo exclusively and be happy with it? Would you prefer an option to disable it in order to enjoy being able to race other players for loot?

as for the rest of your post, I think my opinion differs too much from yours in order to reach any sort of conclusion

I prefer enjoying combat with reliable allies at my side, and to receive loot as a reward for a recently finished battle as a entirely separate occurrence

you clearly do not, better to leave it at that
I feel that this thread has three distinct groups.

1.Players who are frustrated with the lack of loot options
2.Players who get a rush from FFA
3.Players who are exploiting the current mechanic to gain an unfair advantage

There´s some player who multi box and are having very good results. I never did, and never gonna do that. But who im to judge who does it. GGG should be juding them.

what are people exploiting, the slow response time of others? lol

loot log i kind of agree with, though it really doesn't feel right.. a blacklist for public parties - hell no.

High player latency, Slow player response time, Not actively taking part in combat.

This might be true. Maybe there are some player who like the system and abuse it.

But the real problem kicks in wen some factors come in, like ping/lag, people not fully enganging to kill a mob, like just waiting for it be killed to try to ninja loot and stuff. And the list goes on and on.

As lots of people allready write in here, if the system still as it is right now, the game it´s not gonna be competitive, because no one gonna party besides close friends.

It´s gonna be a non-cooperative game. Sad, but true.

Im gonna still support the game, still gonna advertise the game, still gonna play the game for sure, but not the way i want to play.

sorry to say that's not exploiting, that's the way of the road on the internet man

i don't see that, everyone kills the monster, then everyone scrambles for loot... it's just not a loot cooperative game really. People just fine cooperate all the time, if someone wants to throw a fit cause they lost a chaos - Oh well.

Big difference between a guy stopping for 2 seconds to wait for the loot, and not fighting at all. Stopping for 2 seconds to concentrate on loot makes them more prone to dying anyway.

If your leaving guys that don't contribute at all in your group its your own fault there.

Wow this is so sad....so when my friends ask me wtf PoE is i'll say its, "a non-co-operative game that you play with other people".

Just add loot options...by default you will be competitive unless you change the loot rules how hard is that ?
