The whole idea behind the so called “crafting system” in this game is wrong-headed.

How do you get Chaos orbs? You trade for them of course

It's a joke.
You haven't taken the prices under account.
I've traded for them too.
I got about four of them and about two alchemy ones for all my other orbs.
So don't play a smart ass.

To be fair, you don't really need chaos orbs until you get into the late 60s. By then you can make use of the chaos recipe.
And you really can't find anything better than double redbeak and you think this is ok?

Build diversity is bad, m'kay? I suppose I should just go copy Invalesco.

Well, I suppose the alternative is to act like you know more than everyone else while not minding that you're running with inferior equipment.
Sad to see you overwhelmed by rage Martinezz, you used to post good feedback a few weeks ago.

or is it you who cannot think outside the box to realize that item lvl =/= a item's value to a build?

i have a lvl 55 witch (Ek main skill + skele totem and other goodies) on HC who is still using mid 20 gloves simply because they provide temp chains on hit and that benefit is worth more to me than a few more armor/hp points i can easily get elsewhere.

Aren't those gloves awesome? Fabulous deal for a 1-Chaos Unique.

Or you could get a TC gem (since it's a good skill to have), use it on enemies and get the armor and HP that you will eventually need if you want to run this game's "endgame."

It has nothing to do with "creativity." You can be creative within the bounds of the game. But prioritizing "cast temp chains on hit" over HP, resists, and armor is not being creative. It's being foolish.

The fact that what should serve to upgrade your gear is actually loosely set up drawing machine results in badly functioning game.

It’s already not going about ho much we players are pissed off about how this game punishes us for our efforts, nor about that all our fixing proposals stay without any reply.
It’s going about cold facts.

I’ve got a 40 lvl Templar.
Question: how long didn’t I change my main weapon?
Since 22 level!!!!!!!

Almost TWENTY levels and no gear change!!!!!
(almost the same concerns gloves, helmet or belt – 10-15 levels)

I don’t really care what you’ll say about this system. Will you argue how to call it. Will you call yourselves hardcore gamers.
This is bullshit!
The complete contradiction to aRPG.

Orbs drop so rarely that some of them I could count on my fingers (being at 40 level!).
The complete randomness leads to the fact that using an orb again on a half-good gear is asking for destroying it not an upgrading it.
And for something like that you have to WORK for days farming monsters because chaos orb drops once a few days of the game play!
In result an upgrade in this game is a patch of failures, irritation and continuous sticking to some old well drawn gear.

Oh, I would forgotten.
I’ve manage to draw an axe lately, with a higher damage than my 20 levels old one (after several days – a few weeks actually - of collecting axes and wasting orbs on them).
By a complete accident I’ve got two good suffixes on it.
But what would you say about THE OTHER ONES like +4 to acuracy rating???
Changing the old axe with the new one I’ll Lose several needful suffixes I already have, just because the drawing machine jammed again and drew a cake with a shit on top of it.
To change or not to change? None of the decisions is good. None of them is a REWARD. None of them would be going forward.

This game is pathetic in this field and has overcome my own level of anger.
Thankfully there are other games.
22 may The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing releases, and soon other aRPGs.

So let me get this straight - you don't like the crafting system so it is completely flawed, badly functioning and only a fool could enjoy it as it is?

I have some news that is clearly going to shock and upset you so please brace yourself for this...

Not everybody is the same. Not everyone likes the same things.

I know it sounds crazy, but it's true, I promise you.

To explain what that means, because you're obviously going to have some trouble understanding: Some people like the system the way it is. This does not in any way affect your point of view of the system sucking. It does, however, negate your angry little view that it has to change because it's "wrong".

Mmmkay?

Derp. Learn to appreciate it, or go play Angry Birds.

No, the fact that crafting is completely arbitrary and in >99% of the circumstances, you're putting in more resources than the item is worth for a chance to make it better (and often making it worse) is reason to say the system is flawed.

The definition of craft implies skill and production, not luck and destruction.
