I came here from Diablo 3!!! [Please post here if you did as well!]
Options, and good ol' fashion listening to their audience is amazing. It reminds me of the old UO days...*sigh*

LOL, I for once, didn't ask my hubby for permission to buy something game related. He walked in and I told him,"Well, I bought a key for Path of Exile...if I need your permission, we have bigger issues" ROFL

Hi Everyone! I am also coming from D3. Unfortunately though I really did love the game, especially the way the barbarian just could smash up the whole screen with his abilities...it was awesome, but...
...all the penalties, the nerfs, the useless lengedaries, the RMAH centralized game...it just totally ruined it for me. I hate it, because really that game could have been so awesome. I did pay the 10 dollars for this game and I am still giving it a test run. The graphics are kind of meh, if you ask me...dont get me wrong though, it has the right ambient feel with the dark tone, but I think it can be enchanced a bit. The problem I have is that some of the mobs blend too much into the background and I cannot see what I am fighting. The skill tree seems very impressive...a little overwhelming but I do appreciate the ability to truly come up with unique builds. I like how here it takes some intelligence to make a good build, rather then being forced to use 4 main skills. I am a bit unclear on the natural abilities on the individual classes. It appears that your attack skills come from gems rather then having set abilities, is that correct...or are there inherent abilities that each class possess? Sorry for the naivete, Im still just starting the game. I do love the developer's attitude toward the players. I see that on youtube, the dev's showcase certain player builds and not just commend them but give advice on how to improve as well...WOW I mean in Diablo 3, if the devs came across an uber build, next thing you would see is NERF NERF NERF! You dont have the 'punish the players' attitude from the devs here like it is at blizzard. And that is awesome, the devs here really want the game to be great. Anyway, sorry for the long text. Glad to be here and I hope this game really does become the success that, lets say D3 should have been. |

Left D3 and will never buy another blizzard game ever. PoE is what D3 could have and should have been.

I spent about 100 hours on Diablo 3 (halfway through Inferno) and then got tired of it all.
Someone posted a link with a Youtube-video of PoE and I decided to go for it. Paid $15 for the Beta-key and I've been playing all week. At the moment I'm on Act 2 at Ruthless difficulty with my Shadow. I'll post some feedback after another week of playing but at least I can say this: PoE is a very well executed game that provides an amazing gaming experience. I mean, it's nothing sort of fantastic that an indie developer can produce a game with this much depth. The possibilities regarding character and item customization seems to be endless. When my next paycheck arrives I'm upgrading to a Silver-account. Also, I'm trying to spread the word on a few forums and reactions is mostly positive (if not taking the Blizzard-fanatics into consideration). When showing the clip explaining the end-game (maps) a lot of former Diablo 2 players, as well as a few fresh to the series, acknowledges the potential. If the game continues to see added content over the forthcoming years this one is a keeper. |

" I saw someone in Global Chat saying precisely the same thing yesterday....hmm...:) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

subscribed.... or well... payed, anyway, im here out of the completely broken Diablo 3 and hopping for the good work of these guys, im gonna keep supporting them.
What id like to add is, that i think ppl here may be amazed in time, of how many players are up to support a small company rather to gif money to a huge corporation that completely ignore its player base, but rather are greedy for the $$$. Im not very sure about numbers, but if they will keep the good work, i think this team have the potential to win a lot of money, just from the small donations they requiere.
