My experience with DIABLO III. (Stay awhile and listen..)
" I have gotten many "template replies" aka (Thank you for your feedback bla bla) from different support representatives telling me sh**. But I am thankful, there is actually someone that gives a damn. I bet this particular Blizzard customer support representative actually bought Diablo III and refunded the game himself for himself. Goodbye Activition - Blizzard - Vivendi. You were my dream and hope for a truly defining Arpg of this generation. But you took the "Diablo" name for granted, pissed on it like it matters not and give it to the fans that have waited almost decade. You truly pissed off a whole lot of people. Diablo 2's legacy ends with you. Last edited by Ronteque#1950 on Jun 4, 2012, 10:54:10 AM

" I can only imagine what they're going through at the moment. I almost didn't put in for a refund because I didn't want to shove even more problems down their throats. I did, however, because I think the higher-ups should at least know that some customers were not at all satisfied with their product. The reply I got showed that the CS really is doing their best to sort those things out and that they're overworked and just as frustrated as many customers if you read between the lines. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.

" Many people don't realize it, but in today's day and age we vote with our dollar, and the only way to make that vote count is to get a refund when something is bad. If you go, pay money, and don't like it... they still got your money, and your money is a vote... the vote is all that matters, and shows them that you DID like it, and they will give you more... optimizing for lesser and lesser product to produce more and more money/votes. The ONLY way for people to get better products is either to wait for a visionary to buck the trend, or don't vote with your dollar and only pay for things you enjoyed... and yes, that means you must try it, before you buy it. I fully support getting refunds after the fact, as these industries today are predatory. If you have account problems please Email Support

" In some cases, not buying a product may not be enough. In some cases, legal action may be necessary.http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2012/05/31/korean-government-raids-blizzard-offices-over-diablo-3-launch/ Back in black

" You mean Diablo III: A Comedy in Four Acts? If so, very well played, sir. I applaud you. |

" +2 Internets to you, sir. These reasons are why I don't shop at Wal-Mart or buy products from Coca-Cola, Kraft or Mars. Limits some of my choices but I will not *pay* a company to do things like slave labor or raping an area of its resources and then leaving the people for dead. I just won't do it, even if that means I *gasp* have to pay just a little bit more. Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08

" But hypothetically, does that mean I could go after GGG and get my 'support' back at any time? This is why I think it's such a messy concept, because they've already done precisely what they said they would regarding my contribution -- the store credit's there, the unique's done, the avatar's done. I suppose if they renege on the physical items I'd have some grounds, but that's a bit different, isn't it? We'e really inching towards the idea of me being able to say, 'Hey, GGG, give me my money back because I'm not satisfied with the service I paid for!'...when that service included actual man-hours of work. ...as did the making of Diablo III... Maybe it's a lot more clear-cut than I think. Again, this isn't really about D3 at all, not anymore. It's about the line between customer dissatisfaction being a refundable experience, and customer dissatisfaction after the fact of getting one's money's worth. And I paid a lot more than $60. So if, say, 10-20 hours of functional gameplay is 'unsatisfactory' for a D3 player at $60, how many hours of game-play am I allowed before I can make the same claim? ;) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

" It's completely different IMO. You didn't buy a finished game; you bought game points as more of a donation to GGG than as the purchase price of a game. " I just think the concept is very different. You knew in advance that you were helping them to create their game, withouth knowing exactly what would come of it. The game itself is *FREE*, and I think that's an important distinction. " But you didn't pay for the game. You paid for all the other things you mentioned, and it was an entirely voluntary thing. :) Yes, I know, nobody forced anyone else to buy D3, but they had to in order to play it. Here, you don't have to contribute anything, not even the $10 if you wait until Open.
