WAIT...YOU wrote that, Avireyn? I know you linked it, but I didn't suspect you'd actually written it. That was very fine work indeed. And do be proud of the translation -- my own D2 fanfic (satire -- such a ripe subject for vivisection a la Pratchett/Addams) was translated into Czech I believe it was, maybe Polish. It's nice to feel global. ;)
I remember thinking when you first responded to my Obligatory-Gush-About-PoE-because-I'm-new-and-D3-beta-sucks thread that you had a distinct way with words. Glad to see some of playful evidence of that. Correct usage of 'its' and 'it's' is thankfully only the start of where you get it right, too. :) (assuming you did write it. I'll look a right git if you didn't -- but why would you squee over someone else's work being translated...or say thanks at my praise? :) ) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. " Aye, was written by me in the wee hours of the morning. So if there are some grammar errors/typos, I'd attribute it to that (some, however, are quite deliberate). But on the other hand, I really only am able to work when it's dark outside and the city's quiet. Quite frankly, I was sceptical if it was any good, and am still astonished it was so well received. English is not even my second language, after all. Glad you liked it :-). (And I nearly spilled my coffee this morning when I saw that translation. Well then, very well done. I liked the script format, too. It allows for a sort of fourth-wall breaking I really enjoy in plays and scripts but not necessarily in straight prose.
I'm an English Ph.D student (qualified to teach at a university level, although I don't), so when I tell you you did just fine, I think you can take that to heart. It's not PERFECT but heck, I didn't find myself stopping to mentally correct anything either. And that's all you really want from such things. Keep writing. :) edit: just looked at the russian translation. The interspersion of images REALLY works. Nice. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. Finally. I got my refund! Took me 3 days of try. Unable to get through telephone lines, tickets after tickets..
