Ragdoll Effects

Anyone remember how in Titan Quest, if you upper cut an enemy, they go flying towards the screen? Then, remember how if you upper cut them hard enough, they go like 50 feet into the air, and covers half the screen?

Fuck extra inventory space, I would rather buy this in ingame shop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is't havok engine free to use? I just read it.

So if PoE is free...

Yeah, but with just death animations, you don't feel power of hit, except for sound and particle effect. They just do the same animations no matter how hard you hit them.

Not true, I hit them hard enough they don't do animations, they explode :)

Yes they explode, but only if you have skill that makes them explode, like infernal blow.

I think it was Russell who said it's something that could be done with the engine in the future, but it's not something that would work well with the many skills that depend on corpses in this game. Ragdoll physics would have to be lighter. Personally, I don't like the idea. I think having multiple death animations would be better.
I would think this kinda stuff might be the paid effects, then again ragdoll effects sounds like something you would need a lot work with. So i wouldnt expect it anytime soon, then again after we get to see paid effects who knows if some suprises.

Personally first thing im seeing myself buying is GORE pack to get some blood splatter, this game is too bloodless without such. :)
I just can't see the ragdoll physics really adding anything to the game.
I see how ragdoll physics are entertaining, I noticed them giving extra oomph in D3 and they were one of the things that made Titan Quest so memorable for me. But I just don't see them fitting in Path of Exile, if you noticed how quickly the corpses vanished in D3, this was to ease up on the performance usage from the ragdolls, it would get very laggy if it didn't do this. This wouldn't work in Path of Exile because abilities like raise dead and corpse explosion rely on there to be corpses lying around, and to have ragdolls lying around is very resource intensive. Of course it could work if the ragdolls froze quickly after dying but this would also affect the corpse based spells by changing the location of corpses from being flung around as ragdolls. However nice I think it would be to have ragdolls in this game, I just cant see it working out with the corpse based spells.
Every game that have ragdoll physic, have to have freeze time after they die, if not it would quickly cut fps in half. I know that in Titan Quest corpses didn't dissappear, but just froze in place. But, yeah, those spells about corpses are problem.
