I've played Hardcore for races and briefly in CB as well and I gotta say, it's exactly the same game in terms of gameplay (unless you ALT-F4), with the added bonus that you get screwed royally if you die. That's really it.

Since bots have alot harder time in HC that economy is affected to a much smaller degree. Default is also getting swamped with HC deaths bringing stuff over.

So no, that part of the game is totally diffrent in HC.

It makes me wonder how much of a cunt you would have to be to defend multibox botting with such weak arguments.

Self-absorbed ones, who only care about the benefits it brings them.
Multiboxing is evil, because you say so.

Its also botting, just because you say so.

If I have 6 computers in my living room, GGG should come to my house and take away my switch.

In fact, GGG should just ban everyone they think is multiboxing, because that's obviously botting - you said so, without any proof, so it has to be so - even though GGG has already stated they're cool with it.

Also, you automatically win any argument you bust out insults and slurs in, because you don't have a shred of logic or evidence to support your position.

Or you just forbid multiboxing aswell and get rid of 5/6 of all the bots as a bonus.
Great!

So instead of smearing multiboxers on the forums, you convince GGG to ban the activity.

Best of luck with that.

I'm done with the MB debate but I have to ask one last question:

Do you really believe someone with 6 computers would not use a program to clone input? No one can play on 6 keyboards with two hands. So unless you have some kind of weirdo hardware adapter solution (like one keyboard wired to 6 computers or w/e), I'm pretty sure they all use a shady program.

If you just have 6 computers (or instances of the game running) and really play them yourself, I'm quite sure you can't exploit anything. You'll just waste more time.

But who does that?

Right ...

Hahahah. Look at all those bitches! This had me laughing so hard for some reason.
actually, I have 5 rigs in my living room.

In a month, I'll have 7.

In diablo 2, I multiboxed heavily, 8 man games all the time, only dropping slots for guildies.

I don't use any "software solutions", though I've several comps that could easily run multiple clients by themselves. That's not the point; you have no proof.

You broadly accuse folks of horrible deeds, without a shred of evidence, and then propose draconian and senseless "solutions" that will cause more harm than good nearly instantly.

My point is, you haven't the slightest bit of evidence to demonstrate that botting equals multiboxing, you simply assume, and accuse.

Feel free to end your "side" of the discussion on multiboxing.

Don't get all lawyer style on me.

So explain to me, can you move all your characters simultaneously? If so, how?
Manual multilogging is fine, but any form of automated multiboxing is botting and therefore not fine.
Feb 2013 - twitch.tv/destructoid - multilogging okay; 3rd party programs still not okay
Transcript, 1:24:06-1:24:38
Destructoid: Is multiboxing allowed? Is that an issue in games? I've seen a lot of people doing that with WoW and other games, is that something people try to avoid?

Chris Wilson: Our current stance on multiboxing is you're welcome to run multiple clients on the same machine, but you should be playing each one, and if you're using tools to proxy your input between them and stuff like that, then that's an unfair advantage. So if it's exactly the same as walking between six computers and you move the mouse at each one and you control the character, that's no problem at all. But as soon as you're running cheating programs to make it so you're effectively running one guy with the power of six, then that's a problem.
Botting is a real problem. Here are some links.

Path of Exile is a relatively difficult game to multibox. For one, there is no auto-follow/assist/aim. Lack of movement keys removes the possibility of formations. The characters don't stack, but rather bump into each other like psycho billiard balls. Another issue is the different movement speed of each character, forcing you into using 5 of the same class (unless you figure out a perfect balance between the classes' movement speed or something). There is a big problem with the characters spreading shortly after moving. Spread too far, and it can be a certain death sentence.

  • 04 Jan 2013 - Path of Exile bot (macroscript) proof of concept - This seems to be a working bot that kills small numbers of enemies right after entering Fellshrine from the Church Dungeon, then logs out and repeats the cycle. In the video it only scans for uniques, but I imagine could easily have been redesigned since then to scan for currency.
  • 12 Mar 2013 - (one week dev challenge) Path of Exile pixel based bot - Claiming the bot won't go public (unless bots otherwise infest PoE first), shows bot following coastline, opening chests, killing Hillock, accessing stash, trading with Nessa, and using identification scrolls
