Post aura rage here. I will lock any other aura thread I see.

@ Nicholas_Steel: I think your aspect is kinda cakes and ale vein. I would leave it if I were you.

The time given is already enough for them to give a decision at the least. We do not expect them to change aura visuals in 1 week, no one does.

So considering above, this is called "brush over", just as they did on gem visuals. They changed it and then asked the community about how people feel about it. This is explicitly an illusion, they did not ask it for a change honestly.

It was done as a matter of form.

Heavy critics yeah, because GGG's attitude on these issues is quite unpersuasive as it gets.

He made a analogy and his reply is great mate, read carefully to interpret what he tried to say, it was very reasonable and well thought.

Since the devs said that this auras are a temporary solution to performance issues, we all want an option to use the old ones for those who never suffer this problem. It's a graphical option mate (AURAS - HIGH/LOW), like AA, AF, SHADOWS and others. So saying that this is bad does not make any sense at all.

This time you want auras, next time you will want some other option, each time they change something there will be someone who wants it as an option and in a few months this would become a ridiculous amount of options.

And it's not like the textures just got a low and high option, this are completely different designs altogether.

Also I'd like a quote for that "temporary" part.

When i say "we all", I'm refering to the people that asked for a graphical option to be included.

Concerning the rest, don't forget that this is a beta game yet, and if a lot of people disliked the new aura visuals, why not put a option or, at least, give us a clear answer of what they (GGG) are thinking about this issue, or else, why having a feedback topic?

If they follow the Jay Wilson's D3 style of doing things ("I know what you want and what you like"), GGG will only loose the gamers respect, that, in this particular moment, is still very high.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I really like the new auras, it is much closer and subtle to PoE style than the older ones. Please do not change them back.

Graphics option for "simple / elaborate auras" please!

It pains me (and undoubtedly many others) that there is just all these ready-made beautiful 3D aura effects, that are just laying around.

The purpose of beta testing is to get player feedback and use and test ideas to improve the game. pretty normal revise a beta during testing based on player feedback. (That's kinda the point)
