Streamer priority is as unethical as p2w. Discuss.

I wouldn't care about priority queues if racing weren't such a huge part of PoE. When racing (or world-first clearing for other MMOs) weren't a big deal then I would have been happy for content creators to have priority since they give back to the community.

But racing in a new league is a huge part of PoE and a priority queue at league start is a huge mistake. If <InsertLargeMMO> gave login priority to streamers after a new raid launches it would ruin the integrity of world-first clears and streamer priority queues in PoE ruin the integrity of league start races. I'm just going to think "Those people are just streamers who didn't spend X% of the last 3 days in login queues like the rest of us" from now on.

Please just turn off the "So-and-so has entered XYZ!!" notifications already.

i think its clear at this point who this game is rigged towards.

i couldnt even run two maps in standard without getting kicked back to the queue today. im sure our beloved streamers never had to deal with any of that. they probably even had a few mirrors and a headhunter drop while the rest of us peons were waiting to be able to get back on.

False advertising

For a game that sets itself apart with a clear anti-P2W stance, then I find it quite problematic to see that it gives a comparable advantage to players with commercial interests in playing and streaming the game.

I understand the sentiment as streamers do generate more interest in the game, but when long-term players who have supported the game, are left in the dust, struggling with queues (fair) and server instability (happens) while watching streamers skip both queues and run on stable instances of the game, it is more malicious and unfair...

I honestly regret my last supporter pack purchase now, as this preferential treatment approach is, quite frankly, a disgusting business practice.

Just watch any of the known specific streamers who ALWAYS have rock solid ms, no stutters, great base/tier gear and currency dropping like rain

I enjoy the game as a casual so not overly bothered but to openly show how they are catering to streamers is exceptionally poor practice and can only reflect badly on GGG

the streamer thing ok, can see why they did that but then also giving priority to their hangers on is utterly indefensible.

GGG's decision to manipulate the queues on behalf of streamers just made every accusation of streamer RNG a fact. What else has GGG been manipulating behind the scenes? Manipulate and deceive your player-base to make them believe they can achieve the same results as streams in order to boost sales of MTX and supporter packs. Way to be no different than the tobacco industry. Here, smoke our brand, become like this stud, and get all the girls. Pure manipulation.

Game is awesome and I definitely will continue to play. But unless there is a massive apology incoming, I will not spend another euro. That streamer privilege is ruining the trust and undermines the whole philosophy of this game.
