And even though his latest projects like Hellgate: London and Mythos flopped and his company went bankrupt, they have the same love of gaming feel that you speak of. If only he would have been a bit more focused finacially.

Though Hellgate: Global and Mythos still survive today as they were sold to another company that now owns the IP and is making them fairly successful.

He now works for Disney Interactive and is going to be lead producer on the new X-men games, who knows how they will be, regardless I will always view Bill Roper as one of the greats.

Regardless of them selling it to another company, both games still suck to this very day. :P

Sigh, I know. That game was so broken it wasn't funny.

I enjoyed it though, while it lasted.
I think it could've been a hit if it had been developed by a bigger company initially.

Okay, that doesn't change much, it is all about unlocking badges as you level up and nothing more. The current character development system measures nowhere near as high as the complex synergy thing from D2, that allowed for much more variations, not to mention that in 1.10, all characters could technically have and cast any spell. If I wanted, I could write a much longer negative review on D3 - the way quests worked was too linear for me, unlike D2, where quests just outlined your final goal pretty much, it was just too bright, everything shined in purple and blue...

It would've been really good hack'n'slash if it wasn't a Diablo game.

That explains in great detail how D3's system works and how it offers more customization than D2 or anything else. The thing to remember that as you level in D3 you get more options until the possibilities literal seem to become endless. The game starts very simple yes which makes it very noob friendly which is on purpose. I know not everyone will like it but I know at first glance D3's system seems shallow but if you look deeper it really isn't at all

Blizzard Games didn't die yesterday. It had a little indigestion and farted a few times; what seemed gargantuan to us was barely a slight shift in Blizzard's engorged breast to anyone else. The majority of people sucking at its myriad teets barely even noticed. They just kept crowding in, mouths puckered in desperate eagerness, constantly seeking one of those swollen nipples around which to latch their needy lips, utterly dismissing the delays, the hesitant spurts of fatty milk, moving on if one teet didn't work at all, there were after all so many others, and finally they find a willing nib, slurp slurp slurp...more more more...ah, this, this is bliss!!!!!

That game is just horrible, it's a torchlight ripoff without the polish.

It's soft and cuddly, I saved Cain and expected to see him in town holding a pet bunny. "Awww.. Me and my little friend here thank you for saving me!, but if you could give me just a moment, I need to give my niece here a stern talking to... Now then, Leoric has been killed more times that I can count. Would you mind killing him one more time? for old times sake? pretty please? I'll let you pet my bunny!"


...that game was made for the sake of making money. It's classes feel awkward, and have no place in the game. Is that the dark ages of england? Why is the monk a Buddhist? Why is there a witch doctor? ..will the kung-fu panda be available at the store in a future patch?

I'd like to say D3 was a half-hearted attempt at remaking a masterpiece, but it's just soulless corporate crap.

Oh, THAT again? Someone called 'Exeriae' posted it verbatim here and I am pretty certain it was done without the author's permission.

It *is* a great read, but I wouldn't consider it compelling or overwhelming. Like I said to Tagek the first time he showed me, a lot of it is really obvious and repetitive.

For someone like you who already understands D2 and D3 relatively well, much of the information is naturally obvious and repetitive. To others who are ignorant (by choice or by default), its an excellent article that debunks many of the flawed arguments against D3.

People are once again deciding on their opinions about the entire content of a Movie from start to end by watching a two minute long trailer.

Yawn.
