I think that the Item Rarity Mod should be removed.

Seriously, imagine if the only stat that could be affected was item quantity. That way all drops are based purely on RNG and anyone can get good drops. At the moment, it seems that you need to sacrifice stats just to get the good stuff.

Yes, people who use the increased quantity have a slightly higher chance of getting stuff because more drops, but they will be giving up other stats to get that. Right now it seems that if you just want to play the game for fun, you can't because you won't get gear and that makes it impossible at the later stages.

Pure RNG on Item Rarity means that everyone has a chance at getting something good. All that is happening is that people are keeping rings, amulets and other gear in their inventory and swapping them over at the right time. That's not fun, actually that's really really boring.

I can see arguments both ways but lately I have also felt like the game should remove magic find altogether. I would find the game more interesting if all players were on equal footing in terms of drops. Then its only your luck, time played, and strategy as to where to farm. But thats just me. Can't really see the devs removing anything.
Standard Forever
Pretty sure Item Rarity is here to stay.

Can you imagine the shit-storm that would ensue if they removed it? And what would happen to all of the IIR Uniques in which people have paid a ton for (Andvarius, etc)? That's not to say that I support the Item Rarity mechanic, but it's hard to remove a stat in which has become so ubiquitous on gear, and is central to many people's "builds".

Anyone can already get good drops. You can find everything in the game with 0% IIR and 0% IIQ. Stacking IIR and IIQ just means you will get more stuff over time.

The chance is not slightly increased, it is significantly increased. With 100% IIQ you get twice as much stuff. Twice as many orbs, twice as many rares, and twice as many uniques. It is much more powerful than IIR. Which is why it is also more difficult to get.

Remove all that magic find and buff base droprates.

Easier to balance anyway and i hate that feeling of "wear bad gear just to be able to get a lil return on investment".

The game for single player is allready extremly unrewarding in merciless right now. The game in single player without high iir/iiq ist very extremly unrewarding. If GGG doesnt manage to make the game feel more rewarding for majority of people it will get hard to pay the bills (10.000 no lifers wont be enough for sure).
- Farm lower-level content with IIR + IIQ set.
- Trade decent rares and/or uniques for currency.
- Sell rest for more currency.
- Buy better crap.

It's just a different way to farm and to progress.

You just described the "diablo 3 way".
Farm Gold
Buy at AH
Just in poe terms.

A design that people hated and thats not funny at all.

to copy from other games is fine - but take the good things!

Farming is boring. Like boring boring why the hell am i playing this game boring. Farming is what MMOs make you do to try and keep you playing endlessly. I don't want that.

I want to play for fun. When did the world forget that playing is for fun.

- The existence of the Item Rarity mod is not keeping you from playing however you want to play. It's already balanced that if you want to have lots of IIR, plus lots of IIQ, you have to sacrifice something important in your stats.

- Everyone has to farm for gear in the Diablo model, unless they're really lucky. Dealing with random loot is a huge part of the game.

- You can have +500% IIR and +300% IIQ and still get shitty drops. Or you can be like me and already find 4 Unique items before Level 30 with only a tiny amount of IIQ and IIR. If the RNG hates you, it hates you. If it loves you, it loves you.

It's random.

No, because without good gear the game gets really hard later. So it is keeping me from playing because i need to go back and farm levels to become uber levelled or get decent stuff. Yawn.

Why does this have to b Diablo. If you tell me, play this game and you have to farm for stuff, then i won't play. I want the achievement of completing the game, or beating someone in pvp etc. If i have to farm to get stuff all the time then what is the point of the skill tree. Just give everyone the same stats and a big area to farm in all the time.
