[3.14] Wizzzard's Toxic Rain Miner | Starter | Lategame is NERFED

I finally hit 36 challenges with this build. Thank you for the guide "TheWizzard", it was very self explanatory if you've played multiple leagues.

I thought I would post my thank you with my end game gear for those looking for more gear suggestions as this build is very malleable.

My "KristopherExploded" character is my toxic rain miner.

This build is easily capable of doing all content. My character has around 5k health + 2.5k ES, and all resists capped. I felt like it was very tanky.

Metamorph rarely one shots you as you're a miner and are probably far enough away. I typically kill a tier 16 metamorph with all of the mods within 10 seconds.
Sirus (A8) was difficult before the cloud patch. But after the cloud patch he became trivial and we can even nearly one shot one of his stages with our sequence of mines. Mostly my skills are to blame, the character did well.
Uber Elder was the hardest just because it's the only boss that requires skill in the game.

Hey thanks for sharing but it seems from viewing your build, Ocavian, this build and others is that you guys choose a rare helm over Devouring Diadem, is that really much better? noob so i just follow the build and suggestions but sucks when u see no one else going this route

Devouring Diadem makes your energy shield act as more mana, so you lose a bunch of effective hit points.

Also, I'm not nearly as good on challenges as StrugglezX, but I think my gear is comparable for another example of this build. see MightyMorphineFlowerRgr : https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/DevelopersDevelopersDevelopers/characters?character=MightyMorphineFlowerRgr

atm lv 40ish it feels nice
now in act 6 it starts to feel squishy but i guess i just need to dodge more

it's a different playstyle but i like it

started with tabula, than upgraded to 6l silverbranch and then upgraded it with profecy

i've spent less than 20c and made more than 40 atm so i'm satisfied for now

i'm just wondering what's your maximum number of mines
i theoretically have 17 but i'm able to place just 11 with my 2 auras taking 85% of mana

i'll get another +2 later from tree but i was wondering if i can get more than 20 effectively and when
ok, i'm now lv 70, missing uber lab and gear upgrades
with life/mana nodes i can set up 13 mines on 19
What you think about my Stuff for the Toxic Rain miner?

(both SelfCraft)

I'm testing the best Supportgems for the Toxic Rain Miner.
or Decay Support. What is your experience? Or your recommendation?

(The Kraken Belt have an other Build atm)

Im not happy with my Quiver atm, maybe i change to Soul Strike.

Edit:
Should I use in my Build for more DPS?!

With Caustic Arrow it is Funny too ☻☺

Thanks for your Feedback

I came back after 3-4 years, so this pretty much feels like my first league.

I've tried a lot of builds for the past couple months. Baron zombiemancer was my powerful and relatively tanky, but it was boring.

I've gotta say this build feels almost as strong, offensively, and feels even tankier. I can make an occasional mistake, face-tank a boss hit and still not die.

Thank you so much for this build.

I just want your opinion on one thing. Relative to other builds, how "tanky" is this build? It seems way tankier than pretty much every ranger and witch build, other than barons. How is it compared to the marauder builds?

I discovered that I like tanky builds (thanks to you), in POE and I'm wondering if it's worth raising a tank focused build or if this is already good enough.

So you have a very interesting helmet choice, i havent tested if that works with how mines cost mana, since its a reservation and not a "cost" per se.
The synthesis bow should be pretty good, although i dont know if the decay stacks. If not, then its not a very good mod. The other mods are really good.
The same applies to the withering tough support gem. Since the build doenst scale physical damage, the support doesnt do that much, and we get "withered" from the totem setup. The added Chaos damage also only gets scaled very little, since most of our scaling is damage over time and not just chaos damage. A very good support gem is charged mines for example.

For gloves, try to get some with chaos damage over time multiplier, since that is the best stat that you can have. Projectile attack damage sadly doenst increase the damage at all.
On the quiver you also want chaos damage over time multiplier. If you can ALSO an extra projectile. That is always a double influence thing then and can be expensive.

Since the build doenst scale poison very much, i dont think agony crawler is worth it. I havent tried it though!

I am glad that you enjoy the build!!

In the beginning of the league i wasnt really satisfied with how tanky the build is, since the bosses were pretty hard. If you have enough damage everything is pretty managable tho. Ofcause there are way more tankier builds out there. Especially since this build doesnt have a good way of sustaining life or es in a boss fight. A saboteur would have alot better sustain in a boss fight. While mapping this build is pretty safe tho. It was always my go to build, if i couldnt manage a boss on my other chars.
With the hybrid version and some nice helmet and rare items this build can have 8k ehp which is pretty good. So it can indeed take a hit and is not reliant on dodge. That doenst mean it cant die easily. There are not alot of defense layers overall.
Id say its pretty middle of the road. When you are comfortable with how the mines work, you can almost double offscreen stuff, since the toxic rain itself also casts like half a screen or so. That way its pretty safe for almost anything.
