[3.20] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything

Yes, where can we email them? If they raise the cap even a little bit it'd be better.

support@grindinggear.com

They always reply quickly and forward relevant feedback to appropriate teams. They already replied to me: my feedback has been forwarded to the devs.

Oak died in about 5 sec to my Icicle Mines. Just saying ;p

2 sec for me :p
Its me aagain ! :D
Loved the build on harvest, been able to do all content and reached delve deep 600 with all bosses done (abyss, temple, aul) :)
Now with a new league its time to try it once again !! :D

I did a test in Standard: ran T16 Hydra with random alch mods on my abandoned 3.11 character (Winter_Farm) - lv 89 with unfinished gems and semi-ghetto gear, 6.6k ES.

Clearing with Inc AoE + CD instead of CE + SC was just fine. The storms are indeed limited to 5, but everything dies as I cyclone through, before the storms behind me disappear, except some tanky rares. It's still far better than any self-casting setup.

The boss, however... Yeah, the limit of max 25 hits per second feels bad. Ramping up that max dps takes only ~1.5 sec, but it takes quite a bit longer to kill the boss than before - I did the same test last night with unlimited storms.

Then again, spending 2x as much time on the boss as before the nerf is still only a fraction of the total mapping time. And this is a base that we haven't started to build upon yet. New things in 3.12 might allow us bring the boss DPS up again.

For now, the build is definitely viable as a league starter. I'm going to go with it and see what can be done later.

I'm going to try emailing GGG, and it would be nice if more people emailed them too. The 5 storm limit is an unjustified nerf. Perhaps the devs can agree to raise it to 10?

do you think the best way to give them this feedback is emailing them ? maybe a reddit post would get more attention ? I am about to e-mail them just in case
Allright took me 8'ish hours to get to maps with the Coldslinger setup. Felt pretty nice despite Spellslinger got nerfed a bit.

I bought a staff, haven't respecced quite yet. Will do that later today after some sleep. :)

I did the 3 post-patch runs with Plant_Icestorm_Reap_FPS just now before logging out. Uploading results, will publish a post later on that.

TL:DR: Its just as I thought and the numbers feel like what I have been calculating on before. The build is still viable, but it doesn't feel like it did before and we'd have to adjust the playstyle. The 5 storm limit made boss dps worse for sure as you will see on the Elder guardian with extra life. Clearing is also funny as you have to pay attention to storms disappearing behind. Simulacrum is doable but I couldn't get 5 rewards :/. Blighted map was harder.

Emailing might not be a bad idea, although I think they should have stumbled upon this thread in relation to the skill rework - but maybe not?

The new sound effect is "meh".
Levelling sucked until I got to 38 and bought a WI for 1 chaos. :)

It's only 3 socket but feels great.

How is everyone going?
well think i burned out with poe. started, played a little bit, and closed game. specially after they nerfed WI not interesting again lvling

The heists are actually fun and challenging if you're not OP. And they are a source of good loot.

One of mine dropped a Tabula, and it was exciting getting out with that item. Came very close to dropping it a couple of times.

And how is it people at level 45 are paying 18c for a tabula? Where are they getting the chaos....

Allright. I'm going to compare post-patch with pre-patch with my Harvest character Plant_Icestorm_Reap_FPS.

Right now I will run:
1. A Simulacrum
2. A T16 magic Purifier Elder Guardian Promenade with +40% Monster Resistance

Using these sextants:

3. And finally a T16 Blighted Promenade

* I have respecced into a defensive tanky version with an ES on hit Watcher's Eye.
* I have removed Awakened Elemental Focus, Awakened Controlled Destruction & Hypothermia from the staff and will only use Cyclone, Lvl6 Awakened CwC, Lvl 21 Concentrated Effect (as well as Fortify & Infused Channelling for immortality's sake <:-} )

Tomorrow when the patch is released. I will do the same thing over again to try out all the new mechanics. I have a 2nd Simulacrum, a 2nd identical T16 Resistant Purifier Promenade & another Blighted Promenade ready waiting for that when the time comes.

I will record all the runs.

Edit: Ofcourse I will take out my explode chest. I will use this piece instead that is from my Delirium character:

The test has been completed now.
