Say what? You giving up on throwing /walrus or have you run out of them and have to use something else?

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

you're right. gaming is hitting another low, though i doubt it ever was at any height in its ethics.
right now games are becoming more of a money grab than ever. unfinished products, alphas, betas, "in development", even if they do reach "finished" releases they're buggy as fuck, glitchy, unpolished, sometimes straight up broken. free to play are riddled with actually unethical crazy gambling loot box garbage (to be clear im 100% fine with poe's lootboxes). games are so expensive now-a-days. 80 bucks for basic releases and usually multiple tiers of extra goodies which are severely overpriced pieces of junk. games are much often regurgitated lazy unoriginal mass produced boring ideas closer to get rich quick schemes than anything else. the one or two games per year (or less, even) which do spark the industry get molested by sequels and grabs to milk the cow dry and beat the dead horse, probably to fund an extra vaca or two. not to mention the enormous amount of shadows in the industries, AKA games that just rip off the ideas of other games, like all the battle royale etc. Last edited by xMustard#3403 on Feb 16, 2019, 9:00:56 PM

Games are doing just fine. Focusing on a small number of the largest hypercommercial corporate studios and discovering (shock!) that there's a lot of money-prioritising nonsense going on, is like choosing to only watch superhero movies and complaining about the death of nuance in cinema.
GGG is doing great though, yeah. |

As long as Tencent keeps the "hands off" policy then yes GGG stands tall.
Gaming has become a money mining abomination. It is still game loving people doing the coding, but more and more people that are just in for the money end up as the decision makers. As Rhykker said in his last youtube posting: "In the 80s the difference in wages between a normal employee and the leaders were roughly 30%. Now that number is 500%. Clearly numbers like that are unsustainable. Things need to change. |

gaming is dying because i have to run more launchers instead of steam to run my pc games? cool story i guess id just have to play something else on one of my 7 consoles. if the industry just up and died tomorrow it would finally give me a chance to work on my backlog instead of buying new games every month.
