You know, I think Blizzard deserves more respect

The next Diablo game can't come soon enough.
My issue with blizzard is they took the diablo franchise and dumbed it down to basically nothing. D3 was so different than the previous two it boggled my mind.

I will never pre-order again solely because of D3. I was thinking it was blizzard what could go wrong. The game just felt different. They took a complex game and watered it down. Then they tossed the AH on top of it and it was a mess. It just ruined the replay aspect of the game.

The first 2ish play thru's were fine. Not really $60 fine but decent game other wise. After that is was just boring. They removed a lot of the complexity.

To me it was like Dragon age 1 compared to the second one. It just didn't feel like the same type of game. It lost something.

I really wonder if the next diablo game will be different. I won't be holding my breath though. Blizzard doesn't like to take risks anymore. The next game will probably be more of the same.
I am sure it wont be. There was a second expansion planned after the crusader but they scrapped it, probably because they realized the game wont sell more and reaper of souls did not "save it" (as some anti-AH people want to think). They are aware that the formula did not work and will try something else. Whether this something else is good........we'll see

Reaper of souls was a very good expansion... what killed the game for me is this "Loot 2.0" that was implemented with AH removal. Smart drops+better stats for legendary items which killed all other item rarities+insane legendary drops+account bound...

But that was the main point of the expansion - smart loot. The crusader was good I guess but the main drive was the "play to get what you want" instead of "trade to get what you want" and it ultimately failed.
Loot 2.0 was released one month before Reaper of souls and applies to the game with or without the expansion

Main points of the expansion were Act5 (which is really well designed) + Crusader + Adventure mode + new skills/passives for all characters (along with lvl70)
All these "D3/Blizz is shit" threads are getting annoying.

People use to freak out because D3 isn't D2. And never asked themself the question "was it ever meant to be?". No, it wasn't.
D3 was designed and executed as an arcade-ish slightly simplified aRPG, targeted at the average casual player.
It was never intended to be the successor of D2.

Does it make of D3 a bad game? Unlikely. Whoever didn't play D2 would find D3 a nice game to waste some time on. Game runs fluent, it's polished, servers are fine, it's not over complicated.

Does it make it a bad game in the eyes of diehard D2 fans? Probably. That's why they found their home in games like PoE, one of the copycats of D2 design concept. By imitating an iconic game and exploiting disappointment in certain audience, it positioned itself on the market and became successful - as its target group was exactly the unhappy D2 fans.

But when Blizz offsets their target group it's bad, right?
And when GGG use to casualize the game as a trend, to also bite a chunk off casuals it's good, right?

The very same imbecillic threads can be found on D3 forums as well.
Every die hard fan thinks his shit smells better.
While speaking realistically, D3 is not a bad game. PoE's not a bad game either.
But when one of those is called "great", it's mostly up to personal preferences. Or quite often it's about blind fanboy-ism, low intelligence, lack of common sense, or just detachment from reality.

P.S.

D3 player base is several (if not tens) times bigger than PoE's.
But it's because people are sheeple and damn bloody casuals. Fast food eaters.
The true hardcore gamers are the smartasses playing PoE - the best, the most challenging and wisely designed aRPG in history of aRPGs.

Wasn't adventure mode universally panned as bad and pointless when rifts/grifts are a thing?

D3 is a bad game. Terrible.
D3 was meant to be like diablo2.
Diablo 1 was made by blizzard north
diablo 2 was made by blizzard north
diablo 3 was in makings by blizzard north.
Blizzard north got fired.

D3 is a terrible game! It had decent graphics on release. 7.5 / 10
Now d3 is barely 5/10 is graphics alone. I dont even want to talk about butterfly bosses and "chatty bosses that simply doesnt shut the fuck up"

D3 uses mobile phones - thats how bosses chat with you from miles away.

D3 is so bad its competing vs fate/torchlight..

Blizzard is in terrible position because they are cucked by activision, hence blizzard doesnt deserve ANY RESPECT.

THEY SOLD THEIR SOULS TO ACTIVITION. (ok, not souls but themselves)
I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
Wow, what a bunch of solid arguments. Though not necessarily needed. Everyone but the millions of confused D3 players know that this game is shit by default
