Abnormal disconnect: An unexpected disconnection occurred.

There are significant issues with AT&T, Spectrum, Verizon, and Comcast - mostly on the East coast US, but some on the West as well. Can't wait to see the root of this issue.

I have the same problem, but since I started playing in 3.0. At first it was still relatively rare, appeared only from Act 8/9 on. It got worse and worse with time. I even say jokingly that my PC don't like Oriath. Because whenever I want to go there, I'll be kicked out first.
It's the same when I log in for the first time at game start. I'm basically kicked out the first time.
And now it's even so bad that it happens when I want to go to any city to finish a quest.
My PC isn't the best, but if it's just up to him, I generally couldn't play at all.

Ive noticed if i choos any different town than Oriath Square game works more stable. So i am at Oriath Docs (also teste Highgate, Sarn and others) then go to my HO. I dont like Square its just to heavy for many configs, at least for mine.

Started Bazar map, i mean opened portals. Used chaos for recipe alch for mods and two cartographers to extra mods. Enter location disconnected, restart game and portals closed. Thank you ggg.

For all those with "unexpected disconnection" message when loading town (oriath) for first time login, i've managed to take on three different solutions:

A) Delete the ShaderCacheD3D11 folder and run the game again, there's no download needed at all, is just the "cache" for textures, so don't worry about reinstalling or redownload stuff. Still you will probably get the same issue again in the next updates or just never at all if u're lucky.

B) Set the launcher for --noasync option, bear in mind that this will cause to load the whole textures everytime you get into a town, HO, or map, etc, meaning the loading screen will remain untill all textures are loaded. Not the best choice overall, unless you got powerful rig regarding CPU and RAM.

C) Buying SSD, this is the ultimate solution for loading issues in everygame, reddit is overflowing with people talking about this issue and how SSD totally changed the equation.

In summary, this specific issue probably comes from the cache of the textures in the game, while trying to get you into the game before the textures are fully loaded, the game seems to crash on a certain point and forcing the disconnection from the game.

Same thing here. First log with ANY character results in me DC and I am back to the first menu. After that DC I have no more issues.

Any news about this??? IS happening a lot now to me every second, on all servers what is going on? I just purchased a support pack for this shit happening...

Same here. Unplayable for me since today. Too many freeze, the CPU is rising for no reason, then I get disconnected. It occurs more and more often. I currently just can't play the game anymore.

Also can't play because of this, winmt doesn't show any packet loss in 501 packets, but the unexpected disconection happens 90% of the time.

Happens to me probably 10 times when I first try to get into the game. Initial town sticks at loading screen and kicks me back to login with "Unexpected disconnection". Once I actually get in, it's usually okay.
