Looting Issues

For the guy who said about the loot setting being optional for the leagues, I do agree with that, but then the question is what setting do you have for the default league.

Maybe it should be set to instanced at first, but then a group can decide to change to fastest first when it forms if that is how the people want to play?

I'd like to see a dice option added to the game which works like this :

1)The ability to have loot like d2 remains an option for those that enjoy it. This means that anyone that enjoys it has the option of using it with no downside.

2)Add a second option to enable dice looting. The party lead would be able to select which catagories of items go to the roll (Equips/gems/orbs). If a player isn't interested in a certain category he would have an option to disable the roll for them, thus only seeing the loot rolls he wants to see (the client would auto pass).

3)Enable a loot window which will appear/disappear via a keypress. The loot can be listed and rolled on in this window, with perhaps a log of who rolled what. This means you wont get loot spammed while in combat. Loot should probably last 1-5 minutes in this window before auto passing.

Thats my suggestion. Its simple and easy, and everyone gets to use a system they enjoy and finds fair.

To be honest, if the D2 loot system stays in this game, I doubt I'll continue to play as its a system that was used before we found better, more fair systems. Currently, this system is inviting people to use bots to cheat, and rewarding people with fast connections and systems. It's simply unfair imho.

The one thing in this game that drives people on is loot. The system this game will use will most likely be a big factor for everyone. Lets not force a system on people that will just turn them away, lets have a choice :)
