Will Marijuana Become Legal Everywhere Eventually?

Haha, that's funny. I am not afraid to own up to my so called "bias". Because i don't consider it bias i consider it common sense. You are Canadian right? Then you should have seen firsthand the benefits of welfare states over those where the weak suffer. I'd have it no other way. Statistically places like new zealand, canada, scandinavia do extremely well across the board and citizens are at peace because the places are stable in many ways. I wish i could enter a much longer and more well considered conversation but i am honestly out of time i need to finish building a wall and a grill and i only have 3 days left before i go back home and it's not enough time so i'm pushing myself every moment i am not on small break, eating or sleeping.. anyways..

There must be incentive for the individual to contribute, naturally. But the highest levels of society are when the tax money is managed by people who have higher insights than how each person can grow their own pockets, representatives of a party - that's where the peak of society is reached - when we have civilization as opposed to beast-mindstate. I come from the scandinavian countries so i know firsthand our strength is our solidarity and our societies are probably second to none. That is why we manage so well. However it takes a culture of people believing in it for it to work. That's why the welfare state is challenged by the lower consciousness of immigrants from countries where they grow up thinking the system is the enemy, and that's why it must be resisted when some claim that it is proof of it not working. It is actually proof that culture has matured here and that we trust each other which is extremely hard to build!

So you might find i don't disagree that tasks insofar as practical should be carried out privately - that's never something i didn't say - but i did say that taxes should be managed and invested wisely for the betterment of society as a whole and laws and regulations to various areas should also apply - for private firms to operate business according to. The the part you qouted was also an anecdote saying that i have seen from the inside how publicly owned markets can be highly inefficient - and i can add that i have seen them carrying huge negative net balances while still private firms are able to hold their own while making enough profit to carry on in the same market of services.

Bringing it back to the lacking ideal class of elites to make decisions. Mind you - there isn't. There are political parties that represent the different groups in society and their interests and so through the whole democratic body most major voices are represented. One of the main advantages of the democratic system is that the party in charge is changing. This is really really good because that means only the best systems last(similar to natural selection) and it prevents corruption(holding power too long and all that). Also i always said that.. and i'm just gonna speak in language that is just meant to communicate a point here not that they are absolutes and opposites.. i always said that when there is surplus and things are going well - that's where parties leaning towards capitalism are ideal they burn surplus to reward those who work, but when there is trouble, bad economy etc the socialistic parties are better because they strengthen the foundation and do what it required for the country as a whole to manage. That's why democracy is actually really good and yet unchallenged in its virtues. It maintains the balance between the conflicting views inside society.

I will say that the welfare state needs to be modernized in the sense that more things that are publicly owned should be privately owned - because with the pressure we are facing today the old model just isn't the best way to manage our society and we don't have the surplus funds to do it the inefficient way anymore. Note for other readers - that doesn't mean efficient = no soul bad workplace no care for the individual, it just means the old system is not ideal simply it's proven itself worse in global competition(globalization). A business always thrives the best when it's workers are happy. Just to clarify.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
