A "wildcard" jihadist? WTF is that? The mind boggles.
Really.

There Imam tell´s them what to do, and they do.
The first thing they preach, do not argue or reason with a kuffar.
Every military or political noob can tell, that if the Islam world would consulidate,
nobody is able to fiddle around there area´s, but well Aisha is more important.
Modern day religious people don´t even read or understand there own literatur.
Oh, LOL I thought they were "jihadists" that pose for photo ops with McCain and/or are the "friendly" terrorists we're always being told that we should support by the stupid gov't.
Censored.

You know, the only thing I'm surprised is they aren't using drones as bomb delivery devices.

They are, we just aren't seeing them in the west yet. I'm not going to link to any of their videos showcasing this, but you should be able to find them. Fortunately, as large scale destruction goes, drones have limited capacity, especially when you factor in trying to keep them secret.

Consider for a moment that the US has easy access to small weapons capable drones and compare that with the limited usage of them (relatively speaking) in the combat theater.

As for the links in the opening post, I think people who want to understand the issue should start at the beginning of the religion and get a feel for its early evolution. Then read up on how the religion is interpreted and how various determinations are made about what is absolute and definitive, what is general consensus but not absolute, and what is open to interpretation based on X, Y, and Z.

As powerful as one type of faith is, I wouldn't recommend judging the whole of Islam by it, any more than it would make sense to judge all of Christianity based off of the Catholic church. The real strength of a faith is what the people believe, not necessarily what the leaders espouse.

Empowering the people is the key here. When they feel safe and/or supported, the people will seek peace and prosperity for their families over *any* rigid ideology almost every time.

The House of Saud knows this as well. Making the transition from absolute monarchy to a government ruled by the consensus of the people's will is not an easy thing to do, and there are risks. Western support to protect the ruling government during the transition will play a large part as well. If done correctly, the remnants of ruling through fear and violence can be swept away.

For those skeptical based off of semi-recent history, consider that China has been wrestling with a similar problem (transition of power without revolution) for centuries.

TL/DR - don't conflate people, rulers, religion as monolithic even if the separate aspects are very interconnected. There is a lot to hope for, but Saudi Arabia will need a lot of help to reach their goals. Like a good friend, we will need to be there for them during the difficult times and not just when it is convenient or politically popular for us.

Qatar plays all sides. Has massive US military base which is doing 90% of bombing in ME. Friends with Iran. Friends with Muslim Brother Hood. Allows Taliban to have offices there. etc. SA is 100% Wahhabi and doesnt like cottoning to Iran.

I don't know much about Muslims, but the Sunnis appear to be more extremist than the Shias. And most of the friends in the middle east of the USA seem to ironically be Sunnis. And are also ironically funding the same terrorists the public thinks we're fighting against.

The only real transgression the Iranians appear to be doing is throwing out some occasional bravado with regards to the USA and Israel. And considering the USA and Israel have both been talking about bombing their nuclear facilities, publicly, the bravado appears to be instigated.

Notre Dame hammer-attacker shouted ‘It’s for Syria”

We need better hammer control in socialist EU. Right after we fix the Internet with more censoring and put more cameras out in the streets. Jihadists are already shitting their pants.

Why do people even need hammers? Unless you are a licensed, certified and government approved carpenter, I don't see the point.

Next week: screwdriver control
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness

Not true. Read the second article. Basically saudis version of Wahhabi Islam, was of a fringe, basically a bandit raiding family with no power in muslim world, until UK/US started backing them from ~1880 on US took over in 1930. Allowing them to take over SA and mecca/medina. Made them rich and allowed this version to prosthelytize. Anyway thats the main issue as I see it. I mean women cant even drive. Friday in Riyadh is head and hand chopping in public square etc. No different than ISIS.

I guess this is the right thread for this: Iran's parliament just got attacked by a small group of attackers.

Looks like a bunch of slack-jawed idiots got paid to do it, and I'm sure nobody can guess who would've ordered such a thing.
Understanding isis, nice joke you got there lol
