So grinding in a "dangerous" zone should net you considerably more rewards per time spent than grinding in a "safe" zone.

what's your opinion of the results this change would have on the player base?

please consider that players naturally strive for the best effort/result outcome.

The first goal here is to make sure that risk has proper reward.
HC has the ultimate risk, therefore risking your character should have the ultimate reward.

All that means is that the rate at which reward "increases" based on monster difficulty should be higher than non-HC.

they already said they would have to redesign the whole game if they ever implemented a delayed logout.

if implemented, players likely would take no risks anymore and would have less fun doing so.

Players already take the least amount of risks already. People bitch about how easy the game is then turn around and refuse to run most of the map mods because its too risky.

The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.
+1.
Remove instant logout. This is long overdue. I don't care if they have to redesign the whole freaking game for that, they do it all the time.

It's one of the reasons one shot mechanics exist in the first place.

Leaving aside whether or not such a change would require additional modifications elsewhere in the game, one question does remain: if you decide to not take advantage of this feature, is its presence not a moot point?

got that, i was rather interested on the resulting behaviour it would have on the player base.

afaik, hardcore is one of the places where the market is slightly working due to the implemented item sink of players leaving with their gear.

to be blunt: why do you want to flood hardcore leagues with masses of amazing items, destroy that market and make players finish the game earlier and easier?

aren't hc players playing hc to have a higher difficulty?

this is a result of ggg's mistake of changing the experience formula. why not have a negative experience gain? would be the right price of "feeling powerful"?

the thing is, it's not easily changed back as the effect would be devastating. reaching 100 used to be a "one year of hard grind" experience. now it's some weeks of skillful play.

it just "lost it's achievement tag", so to say.

ALt+F4core needs a delay on logging out.

Make HC great again!

One year of hard grind while league is 3 months.

Only if you think the huge damage spike are normal from a balance point of view. It's a "who was first, chicken or the egg?" problem regarding logout vs one shot damage spikes unfortunately...

Heh, not linking end game content to leveling progress post 90 to reach 100 was a huge mistake that GGG did.

If they would have been more confident in their content, they should have always given incentive for high level characters that reach the "end game" to stay there, even EXP wise.

There is a reason people play Shaped Dunes/Strands or Plateaus/Gorges to reach 100 in a ridiculously small amount of time - remember the <24H daisy chaining Shaped Strands to 100 achievement? - and it's because of the lack of a proper danger/reward EXP wise concerning maps from tier 14 and above.

I was always ok with having to wait years to reach 100 on a character, but the EXP penalty changes that were a blanket nerf to EXP gain were a subpar solution...

There had to be a more sensible approach, by lining map tiers to levels, at least for the red tier and levels post 95. A small explanatory pop up window would have sufficed, and if needed, a further EXP penalty, or even a lock on EXP gain for playing maps below your capability would have been welcomed...

Hopefully, 3.0 will address this error...
