Any of you find the meaning of life yet?

I thought the meaning of life was to discover how devious and corruptible Homo sapiens is as a species and live long enough to become jaded nihilistic assholes once we grasped that it is impossible to reshape human society at the level required to deliver lasting change to its cultures.

To be happy. I'm good. Took me till about 16 to realize it. First parents and siblings pile it on you then peers. Then you are infected with self hate self doubt which effects you and you pass it on. Well I died at 16 and decided to follow my own path.

This helped me
"

Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary.

This question is one that only a very old man asks. Does this path have a heart? All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long long paths, but I am not anywhere. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

Before you embark on any path ask the question: Does this path have a heart? If the answer is no, you will know it, and then you must choose another path. The trouble is nobody asks the question; and when a man finally realizes that he has taken a path without a heart, the path is ready to kill him. At that point very few men can stop to deliberate, and leave the path. A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.”

To quote the shadow:
"Death is the only thing that gives life any meaning!"
In my opinion, the only meaning life has is the one you give it. And as far as I know, there is currently no way to disprove that.

Unconditional Love

A concept ridiculed by the masses, sought after but never truly obtained nor understood by the enlightened, mocked within science, and regularly practiced in small quantities, infrequently, by the average person.

You probably won't find it on gaming forums.
It gets drowned out from the latest fads, trends, and must-haves in popular culture.
Those who claim to practice it are still tainted by the motives inherit in all human life.

Nothing is above its power, and nothing in beneath its reach.
It's all around us, yet so many refuse to embrace it.
Each person who mentions it cannot ever hope to integrate it in all facets of life.
People are imperfect, hence the purpose of it all.

Laugh at it, mock it, scorn it, reject it. Do as you will, but the light of truth is persistent. When you experience it, even for an instance, you will never know anything as pure, as honorable, as noble, as majestic, nor as thoroughly satisfying.

Perhaps there is some world, some galaxy, some universe, or even some point in time in which it thrives, unfettered and unencumbered, for all to experience and share, an unwavering truth that permeates everything within, throughout all eternity. In the mean time, in our own homes, our daily routines, our lives, and our communities, we seek it, try to replicate it, but always fall short of completely embracing it.

Unconditional love is a mental illness. Proof: Ask your beloved what they'd think of you if you beat the shit out of them and told them they were disgusting. If they say they would still love you, then they're the enabling half of the sort of abusive relationship that has created a living hell for unfortunate children since time immemorial.

I don't really laugh at that or mock that; I don't think it's funny. But I reject it with every fiber of my being, and I understand those, having lived through its consequences, who heap scorn upon it.

Unconditional love is easy just get a doggie. They will never let you down. Other than that a parents love for child is closest u'll find. As a young father of a toddler I feel that way at least.

I've prayed for the lost countless times. Violence is not love. Unconditional love does not exist within our own hearts by our own doing. Faith plays a key role in that equation. And it doesn't matter what religion you follow, so long as faith you follow teaches of God's unconditional love.

And yes, people will let us down. That's part of being human, people sin. And if you don't like the faith-based overtones, just replace "sin" with "make mistakes".
