Demonstrably false, as here we are with you complaining about it. If you were willing and accepting of the risks involved, I doubt this would have rustled your jimmies so much.

You didn't take the time to fully understand what you were doing when you invoked the power of the Vaal, and you got burned. The game's lore is full of people just like you. Congratulations on understanding the pain and suffering they went through and actually living to tell the tale afterwards!

In the future, please remember that forewarned is forearmed. If you are not 100% confident that you know everything there is about the downsides of using something, don't use it on things you aren't afraid to lose. This is just one of the many 'fun' and interesting things that GGG expects you to learn about. Strap in, champ, it's gonna be a ride.

(Personally I tend to Vaal things for science all the time, mostly because it amuses me. Can't tell you the number of things I've bricked with it...)

Anyone reading this doesn't care about vaal orbs being in the game because you haven't lost an item that took you months to obtain. In what other game is it possible via a mouse clik to erase months of someone time and effort to say nothing of the money GGG loses when someone quits the game after they use a vaal orb like I have. I was a paying customer unaware of exactly what vaal orbs did. I used it on an item that at the time of this writing was worth 13 exalt which I myself made into a 6L. I was aware that a vaal orb could result in the lessening or the removal of a stat. I was willing to take this chance. Instead, The vaal orb turned my disfavor into a totally different crap rare. GGG why would you allow something in the game to exist which would be so bad that could make someone quit the game and you lose money? Can you name me a game that is as ruinsome to someone's time as PoE is with vaal orbs? again everyone reading this is in the boat named "Well it didn't happen to me thank god"

A few leagues back I bricked a 6l coil, a 24ex item that, guess what, I linked myself. I was being greedy. this is what happens when you get greedy. Crybaby.

Edit: Also, What in gods name do you think corrupt means? It sure doesnt mean im putting icing on the cake.

are the two most common responses from people who haven't been the victim of a bricked item.
From GGG Business standpoint is what I am targeting here. Vaal orbs cost GGG income.

Vaal orbs are fucking awesome. I remember when they first came out and someone bricked a legacy Kaom's. GG.

You are not the only person to lose good items to them and they came out long ago. You just didn't do your research or try them on less valuable items to see how they work. That is on you. If you understand how they work and use them properly, on gear you are willing to gamble, then they're the most fun currency item.

I vaaled a 6L wall of brambles last league, it bricked. I vaal every tabula that drops, usually nothing interesting happens but last league I got a +1 tabula. In Perandus I vaaled a +1 max res kaom's which I traded for an acuity. I vaaled the acuity hoping it would brick(so I could tell people I bricked an acuity), but sadly it did nothing. These were all exciting and fun events for me. They added variety to the game and sometimes forced me to adapt to a bad result. This is a very good thing.

i love burning my valueable items at the end of a season by using vaal orbs the results can be so funny and in standart i have mostlikely a copy of it anyway.

During a season i love vaaling maps and leveling uniq a godlrim with 3whitesockets and 39+ all resi can be nice if you dont want to use tabula

Vaal orbs are one of the best additions to the game. High stakes gambling. Don't use them on your 10+ ex items, if you are not prepared to loose them.

+1
You vaal stuff for the off chance to made a great item even better. if that came without risks, there would be no fun involved.
So: Suck it up, most people who have played a long time have bricked expensive items.
May your maps be bountiful, exile
Vaal orbs are my favourite thing in this game. Even though 99.9999995% of the time it bricks things, still love the anticipation.

They shouldn't be nerfed, their drop rate should be increased...or my previous suggestion of a vendor recipe implemented, ie trading corrupted items for vaal shards which then convert to a vaal orb (like alch shards)...at an appropriate rate.

Edit: And yes I know there is a vendore recipe already, but its a terrible one.
