unused beta codes should...

Sounds good in theory, but I'm sure the devs have better things to do than set up further systems for handling beta invites... like you know, developing the game.

I would have to disagree with this sort thing. I for one would be extremely irate if I returned home after being away to find an email saying I'd gotten into beta, only to find that the code had been given to someone else since I hadn't checked obsessively and activated it within your arbitrary limits.

I could see giving away the code if they were inactive for six months or something, but we probably won't be in closed beta anymore by then (hopefully).

There are already people being added every half-hour, and codes in all sorts of crazy giveaways and stuff; and even if you don't get into closed beta, open beta will be here soon enough. Don't be greedy.

Sometimes the doing of a thing is the only reason you need.

"Consider, o man, what may be asked of you in the days to come. Will you stand ready to answer the call? Or will you cower in wretched refusal to meet your destiny? Be ready, or nothing but death will find you."
I absolutelt agree on that.
I dont want to wait days for a key that some other dont even use.

Instead of revoking unused keys, why not simply release more based on the number of unactivated keys? Its equally as easy to track and a much better solution than possibly punishing a user for being unable to check his e-mail due to unforseen circumstances.

but why reward those who obviously forgot or have no continued interest in the game by giving them an opportunity to change their mind and get in the beta?

frankly i would say any keys not activated within a week or even less than that should be recycled to players who truly are wanting to get in the game and provide valuable feedback for improvements.
