Please scale spectres up as well as down (Or another alternative for summoner QoL)

wow, can't believe that archaic design philosophy. every summoner needs to PM Mark_GGG ASAP, seriously.

this notion that spectres need to be scaled down to zone in order to prevent abuse is ridiculous. there isn't a single build that wouldn't just steamroll mobs when going into low lvl zone. yes even detonate dead - which was used as comparison by Mark - which has high fix +fire dmg. so what's the point again?! if you're so concerned with 'abuse', then here a simple solution for you: spectre lvl limited by clvl. so if you're a lower lvl character going into a very high zone for spectres to 'abuse' it, then you're simply restricted by clvl, otherwise you're unaffected, as it should be.

as for scaling UP, I tire of arguing about it, but I don't see any real justification against it.
Mark thinks that you have to 'earn' higher lvl spectres. well great, I'm fine with that, SO make spectres permanent like Animate Guardian... why the fuck do I have to start from scratch every time I log in? how ridiculous is that? it's just miserable, either make them permanent OR let them scale upwards in lvl.
it's not like it'd suddenly break the game having 5 or 10 level higher spectres right off the bat. spectre summoner is already way behind other builds as it will never be able to keep up with damage and clearspeed scaling of other builds and THAT'S FINE cause the gear requirement is low, and flexible, but you have to fix this horrible system of spectre raising.
here, I even give you a 3rd option: make the raise spectre gem level actually do something, because it doesn't, and never has. it's all about the corpse lvl, gem itself makes very, very tiny difference. so why not actually scale it off of the gem more, or off the gem entirely, like other skills?
it took me 5 mins to come up with this idea, and already sounds better than what we currently have... smh
I can only assume Mark and Rory generally love ranged classes, not summoners or other odd things like melee builds ;)

Summoner sucks. I nearly gave up this game playing a summoner when I first started. Even melee is much better and that's like saying crap in my town is less crappy than your crap in your town because your town is super-crappy.

Summoner = crap to the power of crap.
I'll reiterate:

PoE's summoning system (rather the potential it promises) is what drew me to the game in the first place.

It's not crap. It's gimped. There's a difference. It doesn't have to be gimped.

...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.

You know, there was a good question posted in gameplay help, and that's will we able to raise those new monsters as spectres. Those are just normal monsters with different abilities so I expect we will be able to, but if that turns out to be true it will also be a case against permanent spectres, if those monsters are indeed as strong as Chris claims.

I'm certainly drooling at the propect of of having a permanent cast of spectres with enrage, earthquake or some of the more powerful spells.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

While Summoners were not OP this season they were viable for most content. I made a low life which is 82 and an 88 frenzy SRS hybrid.

Both were better in the middle power wise and seemed fine. I agree since power wise they aren't OP though the ramp up time (and cost) might want to be looked at.

Its frustrating when you play 6 maps with your spectres in them and you keep missing them spawning by dumb luck.

Or maybe we could have a separate gem for those, such as "Raise Avatar"

I really don't need more power in my spectres than what the ascendancy class has provided. I need to be able to find them when I fucking log on.

^^^THIS

This is what I mean! RNG should have NO ROLE in determining whether or not I get to play with the spectres I've designed my build around. What other class has to contend with something like that?
