In the rare cases where they don't know or have some clue. How would they go about selling the item? Guess or assume the offer was good?

In the remaining cases, they just want to see if your offer is an overpay.


A practical example: I ask someone how much for their item. They say offer, I say 3 ex. They say nty. I say, okay how much do you want for it. They never respond.

Another example. I ask someone how much for their item, they say 50 ex. I say ty but above my budget. At the very least I have an idea of the market value of the item and there is a possibility of compromise.

A trade system in this case does nothing when the seller is unresponsive and completely unwilling to compromise. Terrible player attitude is as much to blame as a non existent trade system.

Not just the trade system, so much, as the whole player interaction system. We've got no tools for removing people from our maps or hideouts if things go sour interaction-wise. The only interactions we have are Duel/Trade/Invite/Kick - not really very comprehensive for multiplayer-centric party/trade based ARPG.

Meh, Zeno was being a dick.

We're all dicks sometimes. But Zeno is a representative of our community to a certain extent. He should try really hard to not be a dick.

I don't think there should be any inference towards anything else like trade systems.

All that mess for a 5 chaos trade.

Not to sound rude but why not go onto poetrade and look for items with similar trade instead of just saying offer and hoping they offer you a mirror.

Because I don't want to check the price on every single semi-not shitty Rare item I have? And I don't expect a mirror, I expect something reasonable, and most times that's 1c+.
