Zeno - Trade Etiquette

Meh, it just goes to show that if you're a dick, no matter how you try to mask it, your dickishness shines through every now and then. I don't accept the "Everyone's a dick sometimes" schpiel, you have to have it in you to be a dick - even if your self-control allows it to only show sometimes.

My opinion of Zeno sinked a bit more.

PS thought: It was kinda funny and baffling at the same time seeing something so harmless (you could interpret the message many ways and most of them are just harmless) triggering Zeno. Like, I still don't get it- that was a blowup of epic proportions for literally a trifle

He does cop a lot of shit, sometimes the smallest straw can be the one that is too heavy.

commented the random nobody.

If you want to pretend someone who regularly hosted officially sanctioned talks with the devs and regularly has thousands of viewers is a 'random nobody', that's your right. I mean, if you can't be blatantly fucking wrong on the internet, where the hell can you be, eh? Good for you for exercising your rights as a Random Nobody!

Aww bless, some random nobody to the rescue, have a pat on the back.

Back when I was just starting to look at streams online, there was a huge drama involving a D3 streamer who allegedly was on wheelchair but then stood up *accidentally* forgetting his camera was up. The crowd in his stream dealt with him. And what he did was far, far worse, since he made up a fake story to get his viewers to give him money over pity.

The magnitudes here are incomparable; I guess the only reason people are so up-in-arms over this is that Zeno is well-known within PoE streaming community and somewhat unliked on reddit.

Had to google this. Holy crap internet.

I thought you were all about "bigger picture" opportunities, Boem, Can't see any chance to generate a positive discussion out of a negative incident with this?

I am, but i don't use drama as a springboard to open those discussions.

Human tendency is to leave with the negative impressions rather then the positive, i suspect intelligent people are aware of this, that's all.

Like Charan put it, with great power comes great responsibility.(mandatory irony) Intelligence and it's utility is no different.

So yeah, relevant discussion, sure. Riding a drama wave to deliver it, poor execution considering the person in question.

Peace,

I can understand why he did that. If you rip me off ill rip you off. If youre nice to me ill be nice to you. Thats how it works. Awesome streamer btw who does alot for the community and PoE itself.

I appreciate the feedback, but I disagree. Taking the opportunity to turn a negative incident into a positive outcome is the biggest step in learning from the past.

Pretending that valid opportunities don't exist because of the particular circumstance is akin to burying ones head in the sand.

Of course, having intelligent people contribute to such a discussion would be a major benefit, but if you'd prefer to opt out, then I fully understand.

Zeno... Being a fucking childish prick on his stream? Get the fuck out of here... i dont believe you...

But seriously i dont think i could expect anything else from the guy. I mean you have seen some of the podcasts he has with Ziggy right? Especially the one's where they have PT on them? Yeah hes not very big on the whole being an adult thing to begin with. Hes always been a man child sociopath and some things never change. I will give the guy this though... he gets paid to act like a man child and i have to work like a slave for my money so i guess the guy does have that over me ill give him that.

BTW the seller probably said that to Zeno because everyone knows how the guy is and how super fucking easy it is to get a rise out of the guy... looks like it worked to me.
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

I think you misunderstood my point.

The valid opportunities are always there, since the topic is always relevant, as long as GGG doesn't undertake the necessary steps.

But if you wanted an actual discussion on that front, instead of just leveraging the situation then i would be more inclined to participate.
Further more, drama doesn't make a good ground for logical discussion as is pretty much evident by the responses given so far.

Now there are two options.

1) this thread belongs in feedback as the not so veiled feedback it actually is.

2) this thread aims to discuss the integrity of the community as a whole in relation to the multiplayer component of the game(unlikely), which makes it ironic since it uses the misfortune of one of it's members to kickstart such a discussion.

Feel free to point out if there is a third option or if i am mistaken. I support the feedback, but like i said, not the delivery.

Peace,

I'm unlikely to change your opinion, I guess :) Feel free to report it and have it moved to Feedback, if you think it belongs there.

In the meantime, don't let me detain you any further.
