Lagspikes Frankfurt Server

Had a ping of 30 and no lag at all on frankfurt server till like 14 o`clock or whatever.

Now iam at 90ms, having frequent lagspikes of ~400-2k and huge packetloss.

Not looking forward to play the next 1 month league like this.

For me its not just Frankfurt. The other eu-servers are also really a hassle to deal with. In regard of the ping, it ranges the same scale in London & Amsterdam as in Frankfurt. Pls GGG just take a quick look and a shoutout to us. I was really hoping to play the 1-month!!!!

The problem is the peering between the ISPs, especially when Deutsche Telekom is involved. Deutsche Telekom is against net neutrality, they want cash for privileged trafficrouting and it seems they sabotaging the peering to other ISPs.

A quick search (in german) shows problems between level3 and Deutsche Telekom:

While this is true, its most likely not the main cause for the problem.
The peering between Deutsche Telekom and Level3 is problematic for a long time (many months), but the game not being playable only happened early last week.

Also other people from different ISPs seem to have problems too.

Shame GGG hasn't responded yet.
It's a pretty big hassle to see this ignoring from GGG of such issue. Its not ISP problem if yours customers cant consume yours service.

I have friends who dont have any problems. You have to do several traceroutes to gameservers and look carfully at which point packetloss appears. For me the problem begins with 62.157.249.78, its the last Telekomrouter before the level3 network. You dont have to be a Deutsche Telekom customer, some ISPs may use the corenetwork from Deutsche Telekom. And others will sometimes have their own network like Telefonica (Vodafone in germany) that will peer directly with level3.

GGG cannot do anything about this. The only one that could (and ofcourse doesn't, thx CDU/SPD) is the german government.

Although the current (as in today) lagspikes are likely caused by something different.

edit: Can confirm what uglyHansWurst said, 62.157.249.78 seems to be the problematic hop.

Big lol, GGG is paying customer there. You cant do anything.Its true but they can.
Thats what Telekom wants. Customers that pressures GGG, so GGG have to relocate the gameserveres to Telekom network and pays for privileged traffic.
