I've been using this skill a lot lately and having a blast with it, but it definitely does feel too slow/cumbersome. I feel like it should either be distance-agnostic (have a flat teleport delay, scaling with cast speed) or have a significantly faster base casting speed (0.5 seconds, maybe).

would casting this on a point where you are already standing (in the middle of a crowd) be considered abusing the skill? because that way of using it makes it WAY good - since you are in effect getting 2 casts for the price/cost of 1

- you get initial dmg where you are standing
- and you get ending dmg, also where you are standing

I haven't been able to find this gem yet, so can someone please tell me how the dmg on it scales compared to shock nova?

It has a minimum warp range.

clever girl...
My Lightning Warp damage build made it to chaos! Here are some quick videos for anyone curious about how it works:

I think I'm now fairly qualified to critique the skill for its damage-dealing abilities. Here are some pros and cons for using it for damage:

Pros:
1. The skill does two AoEs for one cast.
2. The damage is probably just about right for the high base cost.
3. The minimum teleport distance makes it possible to overlap the AoEs just barely at base radius. This is made much easier with an AoE support and passives.
4. Run speed lets you speed up the TP resolution time, essentially turning run speed into a damage increasing stat since you can finish your teleport faster. There's not really any other skill that works this way, and I love this aspect of the skill.
5. The skill will fire much faster if you teleport toward an obstacle, but I found this feature to be very finicky and difficult to abuse.

Cons:
1. The small radius of the skill pretty much requires you to have a more-than-mediocre defense, unlike many other spells. Even with AoE increases, it will probably never get large enough to use more like a nova.
2. The base mana cost is quite high for something that may not be viable for pure casters other than as a utility spell. The damage makes up for this, to a large extent.
3. It has some serious graphical and latency issues:
  • It's difficult to see when cast in water because the majority of the graphics are displayed below the character.
  • The spell will sometimes visibly fire, but fail to resolve or do damage, sometimes even when there is no obvious stun involved.
  • Sometimes the spell won't visibly fire, but DOES resolve and do damage, often without any noticeable stun.
How much of this is due to latency issues and undetected stuns, I am not sure. Each of these phenomena are noticeable at least one or twice during my videos without any obvious stuns, and are fairly common.

Thanks to the GGG team for designing this extremely unique skill. It has been a lot of fun to play around with.

I'd like this for a dex claw user, but I haven't leveled to that point yet. Though I do question how valid it's usage is when you have flicker strike.

Edit: Or our sixth class. Seems tailor made for a dex/int user :D

0.9.5 feedback below this post

If you know how to use this skill, it can be a great defensive skill. I think people complaining about the delay need to practice getting the timing right.
Can any dev please respond to Urist's Post above?

Some if not most of his observations of the skill still hold and need to be addressed. (or at least responded to by a dev)
