Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)

Played around with the passive tree a bit. After a lot of experience with kaom's + end game maps, I have determined that any .4% regen life node isn't worth it. It is much better to get more health nodes and get more regen that way. The armor nodes in the duelist area are also not worth it - granites of iron skin can negate pretty much all the trash mob hits. Rhoas, flickers, spellcasters, reflect, and some bosses go right through your armor anyways. Those are what kill you.

This is the build I came up with after a bit of optimizing:

I am missing 4 8% nodes at level 84. 11.4k hp. Still trying to get my MF better. I am thinking about sacrificing the +%fire damage on my rings in order to get better IIR/IIQ rings. I would get 34k dps instead of 40k dps but I still think that mobs will in most cases die pretty much instantly. I have 4k armor which is enough to negate most of the trash damage, and if something big hits me I can pop granites for 45% reduction to phys and 13k armor. I also always use enduring cry, which really helps against the hard hitting phys enemies. My regen is 500.8 and my explosive arrow cost is 500. Sapping flask gives 230 extra regen if I need it.

I will still have to play around with this a bit more. I think in most situations I will be less likely to die.

EDIT2: Playing without 7.4% regen feels really wierd. For half regen maps I am finding I have to use life on hit on my chain split arrow instead of ranged attack totem.

Edit3: I am finding life on hit is very good to regen spike damage that occurs after hitting a big pack on a reflect map. I can heal it all up before I have to culling strike the pack. I think I will swap out my ranged attack totem for LoH for reflect, half regen, and potentially no regen. Otherwise the extra LoH just isn't needed and the ranged attack totem is best. I would also use the ranged attack totem on maps with rhoas/flickers in them.

I guess for HC this is the way to do it, the extra life nodes really boost a lot of hp. On the other hand u need to get to this high lvl first ofc :)

Grats on the boots, really nice exalting right there.

By the way, how did you determine your exact damage? I'd like to find out my EA dps as well, because I went for the Arsonist nodes (SC ofc, wouldnt do that in HC) :)

the 91 point tree is different from your current build. one goes into the duelist start and the other goes to thick skin north of iron reflexes.

quiete ironic, I finally finished this EA build and got all the items that I needed, and now they release a new patch, with new leagues, new items and change the life and armor mechanics :D well I guess it wont have a big influence on the EA marauder build tho. maybe armor will be more important. we will see.

I think it will be really cool. EA marauder is currently 95% based on defenses, and they are doing "substantial rebalancing" of defenses. The standard EA marauder could end up going through an entirely different path!

EA's damage will always be strong. The thing we need to worry most about is if the nerfs to HP stacking will result in our regen from passives being below the life cost of explosive arrow. I guess if that happens then everyone will just have to use chain + life on hit, which actually will be hugely buffed if we end up going for less HP.

Overall I think we will be around the same or benefit from the changes. If they are improving defenses, and we have pretty much all our points to devote to defenses, maybe we will be able to become even tankier or perhaps... even more damage! lol.

Gonna divine it up to ~16 quantity and ~50 rarity. Maybe eternal orb it to try to get HP eventually. Would be hard to get HP tho, since it is only 1 of like 7 prefixes.

Becoming more tanky would be great! One downpoint is of course that u cant find Kaoms Heart in the new leagues. But as I cant afford one anyway, np there lol.

You really want to Divine this? The possibility to get 45%+ IIR and 15%+ IIQ is quiete small I guess. I would definitely use a Eternal orb on it first, if you can afford one (guess they will be several exalts at the beginning). I would leave the ring as it is and swap it in for boss kills only, and use one with rly high defensive stats as youre HC (Im a scared guy I know lol)

Really excited about the new patch! Altough it means I would start at 0,0 in the Anarchy league. Right after I finally got my EA mara finished.


Well it has the two highest rarity rolls, so at minimum it can roll 13 quantity and 40 rarirty. I would at least divine it ~5 times to try to get perfect. EA would be a fine choice for anarchy league imo, as the unique mobs probably wont have much fire resist. Also I can sacrifice stats for the ring. I already have max %fire dmg on my other ring and neck, and I only lose 200 hp, which isn't much since I have 11.1k.

Thanks for the guide. By far my favourite one that I've tried. Currently cruising through maps on default lvl76. Only got 4L and I'm just burning everything, <3 EA.
