PoE is pay to play. You have access to part of the game for free,

You have access to the entire game content for free.

"
but you have to get tabs at a certain point unless you want waste most of your time changing between characters and accounts.

The stash is sufficient to enjoy the entire game content. It is not Drakensang, where some quests need a lot more space for quest items than you have in your inventory without spending real currency.
Also, with so many character slots, by your own admission you can substantially increase inv capacity.
I don't understand how changing characters can take you most of your time? Filling up 4 stashes takes a lot of time.

"
If you don't mind wasting your time, it's at least PTW, as you clearly have an advantage if you invest money into the game.

PoE is the very opposite of PTW. The company NEEDS money to run, and they have the least invasive micro-transactions system I have seen. The only "advantage" (stash space) is negligible in action RPG - it is like saying that your favourite football team lost the championships because the opposite team had larger lockers in their changing room.

Let's sort one thing out. Buying stash tabs and paying to win (or play) are two different things. Stash tab bundle is 150 points (not discounted), so it costs about 15$. You get six tabs for it, and that makes 10 tabs in total, right? It's not hugh hefner, but it allows comfortable playing. You CAN play without buying anything, and experience is the same even though you won't keep anything you like, but you also can actually pay some real cash if you want everything to run nice and smooth, hoard items and currency. Yes, it gives you an advantage if you pay (and this game isn't really player to player competition, so that advantage is kinda overhyped), but you don't need to pay systematically to not worry about stash space. Hell, let's say you pay 30$ for 12 non-discounted tabs - that's a cost of a non-free game, right? It's not that much, considering you play Path of Exile SERIOUSLY (:P). And, if you really can't afford paying 30$ for a game, you got to really think about your life, stop playing and get a job. Everyone's discussing that stash pay to win thing like you got to pay GGG milions of dollars weekly to actually compete with other players - for real, please stop it.

My point is: if you don't spend any money, you'll end up hitting an invisible wall and won't be able to progress in the game, or you can progress but are at a huge disadvantage against other players.

GGG advertises PoE as being a truly Free to play game, which actually isn't the case. It doesn't matter if it costs a lot or not, but you HAVE to pay to keep playing smoothly.

Most people don't understand how FTP (not P2W) games work. They don't require you to pay anything, because if you play you are already providing content for the game and making it more enjoyable for people that can throw hundreds of dollars at it. Basically you provide content and someone else will pay for you, in case you can't/don't want to pay for the game yourself.

I would prefer PoE to be a truly FTP game, I think it would bring more people to the game and generate more profit in the end.

Who's whining? Thanks for wasting your words without saying anything useful...
I believe a truly FTP model is the best for both players and companies. If you disagree with me, go ahead and present your arguments :D

Sorry, but i have to comment on this.

Seriously man, it is F2P, they give you enough tabs to go by, but if your hunger for items, tabs and stuff asks for more than you are given, you have to get more somehow right? You have 04 options:
1 - Ask someone to give it to you and keep asking everytime you need (beggar)
2 - Work and buy it yourself (worker)
3 - Steal from someone (thief)
4 - stop playing (it may be the best option for a person with such presence)

There is no free dinner in the world at all, and in this case won't give enhanced abilities to your character anyways. Your invisible wall is created by yourself despite being predicted or not, and you know it also.

Ignorance is a bless! (If you haven't played the game, you wouldn't want more tabs!). :D

Btw, you got some attention also! ^^

Of course POE is pay to win, I need to buy a computer???? And now they add all these awesome new graphics in act 4 and I need a potato upgrade. WTF P2W
wohoo i'm finally part of the 1%!
GGG, i'm not trying to complain, simply suggest a better way of doing this.

If you gave me an invite now, i wouldn't want it.

Why ruin all of the surprises for myself.

The grip and fever of the last two weeks has been great, but it's become obvious i'm not getting in anytime soon. So, given that and that you are just wiping everything a few times anyway, why should players even bother going into this beta?

I would have loved to be your wee little game tester, but for whatever reason half the people you invited were just randoms from the internet and not the actual poe player base.
It's pay to test (unless you are some kind of nolife or you are simply lucky).

It's free to play and free to win and free to troll.
Kick Ass and Chew Bubblegum - That's nature for you.
well I totally spent 430 ish which seems to be a tad bit too low, sadly :(. guess we have to hope on the timer since the 5 day is mostly for people without a fulltimejob.

level 70 will be achieved together with 2500 others so it's still a 1% chance to get in that way I suppose.
It's a shame that all of the Silver tier packs don't add up to $500, but what can you do. The increased amount of people invited is a good thing still.

People are answering to me as if I was asking for free tabs lol. I'm not. I don't need more tabs than the ones I have. And yes, I contributed to the game, I'm just not the type of showing off 3 shiny plates to let everyone know I did. And I would have contributed more if PoE were FTP.

I'm not saying that the amount of money necessary to play the game is too high. I also agree that it has one of the most fair models out there, but could be better. I'm just stating that PoE IS NOT FREE TO PLAY, in a sense that what you pay doesn't affect the game. You can also play Diablo 3 for free for the first X levels or something. Is that FTP? No.

If you aren't bothered by switching accounts and characters it's Pay to Win, because people that pay have an advantage over people that do not.
If you don't want to switch characters, it's a Pay to Play game with a generous Free trial.

Don't forget that trading is a very important part of the game. If you want to get enough currency for top tier items, you will probably have to save items on your stash and setup a shop.

"
The company NEEDS money to run.

The idea that I have is that many people pay because they want to support GGG, and not just because they need stash tabs. I can't speak for everyone, but I would be more inclined to support if the game was a completely FTP play game.
