There's a story in D3 and POE?

And people actually care about them?

LOL!!!!! Wow. How about: go kill shit and get loot? I skip cut scenes after the 1st time watching them in all games... and maybe 3 years go by then I'll watch them again.

Both D2 and D3 cut scenes were gorgeous by the way and ahead of their time.

Oh, there is. At least for PoE. It's fairly subtle. It's not about cutscenes, it's about reading the lore (more similar to Diablo 1 in that way). I can't blame you for not noticing, but it's actually good, just not that well presented (to give you an example: there is a lot of foreshadowing about the Beast and its nature in the game). D3 story is probably the main reason I dislike that game. Its quality is just subpar, no matter how much cutscenes it has. Blizzard has millions for graphics and cutscenes, but not a penny for writers, it seems.

Some cutscenes (or at least some kind of slide, Thief style) for PoE would be sweet, though.

Not all the people play for the loot. That alone is shallow.

The only thing "sick hard" about original inferno was having to play auction house flipper until your eyes bled and the gear check was overcome. Super challenging indeed. ;)

Sounds like ueber atziri and sustain 75+ maps.
What can never be lent or earned?
Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything:
A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones.
Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings.
What am i?

I played a lot of d3 and IMO best was original inferno. sick hard. I almost quit after 1.3 and 1.4 patches which nerfed it to the ground. Just hung on until something better came along. That something was PoE.:)

I agree the original inferno was sweet

trying to beat that shit on hardcore was so fun

Well in PoE you have to play trade chat flipper until your eyes bleed if you want that 6L Shavs and mirrored gear...

I never tried. That gear was too hard to come by just to survive act2 let alone 3 and 4...I think kripp was first to do it in HC. Nevertheless all D3 had going for it was superhard...so hard team play was necessary as I recall for party buffs.

The gear to comfortably survive act2 inferno was conveniently locked into act 3&4 inferno ... that's why.

Kripparian and Krippi were indeed first to take down the D in hardcore, but it wasn't a one man show and had a lot of support.

Team play for hardcore was originally a bad move and likely to see one lose their character eventually,it took many changes to party mechanics before it was acceptable and in true Blizz form they overreacted and actually made it too good compared to solo.

It was far quicker and safer to solo into and play inferno than to party in vanilla.

In-game cutscences would be doable without wasting too much money.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
All that D3 proves is that the majority of ARPG players don't want trading. It's sad that PoE has no self found league(s) yet. Especially since it has such a fantastic crafting system.

So many of you speaking on D3's mechanics clearly haven't played it in years, if at all.

This +100. Never thought that there could be something like Fairweather-Haters. But here they are.

It's actually pretty amusing I think and there's little point in trying to be enlightening on the subject because ... well you know,"haters gonna hate" and all that jazz. lol

Smells rather much like a failure/reluctance to adapt to different concepts and calling them bad concepts ..... when mostly ... it's just different concepts/mechanics that eventually lead to the same conclusion.

=)

.
The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
Diablo3 is boring becase there no trade, no guildstash, the legendary is not fun... Every one same build, same items that is boring...

I want freedom when i play arpg game, and i want "Scary game" =).
Poe veteran! Have been here sense November 2010.

At least in ROS the devs give you the option on how you want to level your character. Don't want to run the same boring bullshit acts over and over and.... godkillmenow over again? No problem! We've got a cool solution for that issue: Adventure mode!

Anyways. I know my audience. It's all good.

Well at least in acts you have some feel of natural progression. Adventure mode is just 'free these 3 guys' - 'go to this dungeon and kill all mobs at level 2' - 'kill 150 mobs and this boss that is just a boring rare but his name is in shiny violet so he's a boss' over and over again xd

This sounds like maps.
