Is there any kind of loot alarm or notifier available for PoE? I'm always paranoid that I've missed a chaos somewhere on the ground or something! Would be great if there was an audio trigger that would notify when specific loots drop, or maybe a log that you can sort though before you close out a zone?

Any third party software that interferes with the game is against the terms of service. As mentioned above, Orbs do make a sound, so if you learn that sound, you will usually hear when something drops.

What about tools that don't interfere with the game at all? Like, say something that listens to your audio output and makes a more audible alarm when it catches certain sounds (like the orb dropping sound)?

well most good orbs make a kind of distinct ringing sound when they drop

This, can be problematic while off-screen cheesing, though... :D

In a perfect world there would be a slider for lootsounds, so you can paly without other sounds, listen your favorite music and still hear when something drops.

Or they could implement a loot filter so that instead of seeing EVERYTHING that drops, you could select what you wish to be visible.

If you pay me 2 chicken mcnuggets and a half a slurpee I will stand beside your computer while you game and scream "LOOT LOOT LOOT LOOT" whenever something drops.

How much time does 2 chicken mcnuggests and half a slurpee get you for though? and how much longer for a 6pack and a whole slurpee?

I was quoting an hourly rate, so if you triple the nuggets and double the slurpee I could probably do a good 17.6 hours, if I'm doing my math correctly

I must be hearing impaired myself... played with the sound up quite a bit today and looted bunch of orbs including at least 5 chaos. All I ever heard was CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!CRASH!

...So what's the orb drop sound I'm missing? I did hear some shields drop and they sounded like I'd expect a shield to sound when thrown on the floor. Or maybe a pie tin sound or something. i don't know what sound a Chaos Orb would naturally make, hah
using Voice Attack to listen to game audio and exclaiming "A chaos just dropped dumbass, go pick it up" when it hears the sound of a chaos dropping... I like the idea, but I'm pretty sure it would still be against the terms of service hehe

I can tell you from experience that a Mirror of Kalandra makes the same sound as a chaos orb when it drops

One time I heard a really weird sound, I thought to myself "that gotta be Mirror or someshit", so I searched the map twice, nothing :(
