ok just got curious and looked at AXN's shop
" The thing is, the game DID make a big change away from the economy-centric clusterfuck it's still becoming. Master crafting was a great way to completely bypass the economy, spend your orbs on something meaningful, and end up with not just end-game viable builds (you can do that with blues) but actually powerful, fun builds that are comparable to what people have to trade to achieve. Then they nerfed master crafting because too many people were bypassing the economy. THE ECONOMY! THAT's the kind of bullshit that pisses people off about the economy. Stuff like AXN's shop don't piss people off because of jealousy or avarice (despite how easy it is to come to that conclusion and how high-and-mighty it might make you feel to boil down these arguments to that), they piss people off because they show just how much the economy isn't worth saving, yet GGG actively makes decisions that make the game less fun just for the sake of this broken economy. In terms of solutions, all they really need to do is:
-Make master level 8 less of a grind, especially for solo -Bring back Vagan's hybrid mods -Add more uniques to their daily shop pool. Boom. You can now completely bypass the economy if you want and avoid all the bullshit associated with it. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo

And how has axn's gear effected your gameplay so far. People really need to stop worrying so much about whats in the next guys stash tab and just play the damn game. You will enjoy the game more and you will avoid being one of these salty whiny people who complain because so and so has 10000 more wisdom scrolls then they do. GGG can fix lots of things, jealousy isn't one of them.

so one way out to more equality:
at the end of current temp league, eternal orbs an only be used to store magic and unique item's properties. applied mirrors make the original item mirrored as well. legacy items are account bound. economy should slowly stabilize after this. there would still be rich and poor but the gap between them wouldn't be getting bigger and bigger. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" spot on. " you'd need to define what an "efficient" build is, because I actually think more towards "make as many builds as possible, able to become viable in the hands of a skilled player - without exploits - thereby maximizing the huge potential of the awesome skill tree, as much as possible". but yes, definitely not balance around mirror-grade gear. the super-rich can find their own ways of having fun with the game - despite everything melting to their 1 billion DPS and 200% block/eva and res - without pushing forth ridiculous gear-checks that screw the not-rich. also, improve monster and boss AI. make them harder not by having a 90001 damage mixed elemental/physical basic attack, but by having very specific super-moves, synergies with minions, reactions to what the player is doing and so on - so someone "rich" who doesn't really know how to play and/or have a good strategy, can and will be destroyed, but someone "poor" who does won't necessarily be. " hmm no. no one stopped high runes from dropping in D2, or crazy-rare stuff from dropping in other games. but make them and everything else less random and more .... ahem .... "risk/reward". yes, I know some people hate it when I use this term, but those same people likely don't have a clue what it means. I believe the above will suffice against RMT too. RMT "services" exist wherever there are good amounts of players. they are like leeches. but no need to encourage it. no need to help the maggots turn the game into a corpse. " yeah yeah! You stop eternals and mirrors from dropping you are slashing RMT's throat. The idea behind the RMT in this game is the following: -Use countless exalts and eternal to create the perfect weapon. -Once the perfect weapon is created, just keep offering mirror service with fee. -Re-build your loss in creating the weapon and keep getting returns on investment. You chop mirrors and eternals, they can't do this shit anymore. |

" it's not jelousy, op and others worry about the attractiveness of the game to new players. the game is like it is now because these ultra rich players exist. real crafting in poe can be compared to democracy in modern capitalist societies: it's not really existent for you before you manage to be one of the top 1000 whealthiest people. ggg knows that increasing the drop rate of high value orbs will eventually only increase the whealth of high end crafters because these orbs are mostly used for trading endgame items and using mirror services. so they can't increase the drop rate because high end items are to stay forever and not only trivialize current content but also content to come. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" How would you implement this? Loot tables? A higher level of increased IIR/IIQ for certain mods/mobs/bosses? My concern would be that this would make farming more efficient for players... but also bots. I guess with better AI, the bots might die a lot more to these beasties, but with Great DPS comes Great Who-Gives-A-Shit-About-Strategy. Of course, it would hurt a lot if you had to kit your bot out in 2000ex worth of gear so it could mindlessly farm, and it got banned. I dunno man, it sounds like a pretty tough ask. Balanced off with the potential loss in player base if the new content dries up and I can certainly understand what a shitty position GGG must be in sometimes when making these choices. Thanks for sharing, btw. I'm pretty comfortable with all your suggestions. The most fun I have had in this game was the first time I fought Atziri, and then the first time I kicked her ass. I guess this is as close as there is in the game to encounters that you're thinking about? == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Best of luck in the future! Last edited by CaptainWaffleIron#2395 on Jan 5, 2015, 11:53:37 PM

" You got the point but not totally : If you can access a 2xT1 or 3xT1 perfect item that has dropped you are halfway of crafting a 6xT1 perfect item, you have saved at least 100 eternals. Not to mention that you can just sell it as is much more expensive or even master craft it for a very good item. If you can filter per number of mods and on top of that get a fast notification directly to your email, there you go. I don't understand how GGG did not think about this, or it is just that is intended but it is a crazy huge advantage over people who is just playing legally.
