This game is too easy

Really don't get why there are people crying for difficulty in ARPGs. The goal in these kind of games is not beating them, but having fun slashing monsters and getting loot.
The opening post sounds like he'd enjoy the game more if he couldn't get through Cruel. -.-
Curious if we will see his name in top places during one of the coming events, should be an appropriate challenge.

I don't think it's fun to play underpowered builds, infact everybody could make one, on the other hand finding OP stuff that nobody knows it's great fun. Plus it requires too much farm to respec to a ''for fun'' build.

Do you also avoid difficult map mods because you think its not "fun"? Find ways to challenge yourself in the game. The game can't be tailor made just for you to be difficult simply because you don't challenge yourself.

A big part of the game is re rolling new characters. If you don't want to do that then I don't know what to tell you other than why don't you just play something else? It doesn't sound like this is for you.

Not being a jerk. That is just my only advice.

I did hope for a better and more challenging endgame, once reached 70+, the game feels easier than cruel, it's sad that other rpgs (while inferior for many aspects), did offer a more challenging endgame.

Playing Hardcore doesn't make the game any harder, it's like juggling, and saying that playing with 2 balls without dropping one, is harder than playing with 7.

This game is casual friendly, i started to play PoE after reading the forums, people were begging the devs to keep this game ''hard'', to not do same mistake Blizzard did with Diablo3 Inferno.

I really want to know what games did they play to claim this game was hard...

Go play Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Ghost'n Goblin... that's a PvE hard to beat, and they were made decades ago. How is that possible that they could more challenging games back then? If something they should be harder now, the AI technology should be more sophisticated now, allowing devs to make monsters have random and unpredictable pattenrs, but nope.

It was harder to beat Gary in Pokemon red than finishing this game.

bla, bla & bla = your post

any ARGUMENTS supporting your theory?

What's your elo, brah?

1800 in chess
1900 in magic the gathering
2900 in wow
2000 in AOE3

What's your point? Acting like a smartass is not an opinion. I think that you're a fanboy, and that whether the game had this or that problem, you would've whiteknighted the game anyway.

Look up the definition of Forum on google.

Game difficulty is fine. If someone has ELO ratings that high in multiple PVP games then obviously any PVE game is going to be easy relatively. You have to ask yourself why the games you mentioned are hard. There is pattern memorization (forces failures) or simply games that require supreme reflexes and focus. PoE is not one. You build a character up to become an uber bad ass. Some characters will be more bad ass then others. In the end you are supposed to be powerful.

Also, check out real life. Its pretty tough. Come work in the hard sciences if games are too easy for you. Mother nature is a real bitch.
This may be one of the best trolls I've seen. If its not a troll, then OP thanks for your time playing and your opinion. See ya later

Regardless of the poster there are people who think games should be painfully difficult. It brings up an important topic in games today. Its more about making them rewarding and complex than just difficult. If making an awesome game was as easy as making it super difficult wouldnt making a game be very easy? There are wrong ways to make a game difficult (D3)

Path of Exile is meant to be enjoyed, not beaten.

Ten words of pure brilliance.

EXACTLY!

I think ever since WoW became really popular and introduced main stream gamers to MMOs the whole gaming community has gotten really out of hand.

People have moved on from WoW but are still treating games like full time jobs that need to be beaten as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Its all about "end game" and a level playing ground with no one having the upper hand. Look at people crying for class nerfs in an ARPG, like its an MMO or something...

People need to leave the MMO mindset where it belongs, in MMOs. Even then its an unhealthy mindset of enjoyment. Unless your goal is to be a tier 1 raiding guild people just need to chill out and enjoy games like they used to.
The endgame should have the potential for truly ridiculous difficulty. I'm not saying blue maps, but high-level yellow maps should be scary enough to keep spitfireqt on his toes (and rewarding enough that he doesn't opt for less challenging ways to farm).

Any feedback of this nature — the game is too easy — needs to be examined far more carefully than its opposite kind (the "game is too hard" complaints).
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I broadly agree with this. If the endgame is too easy, it fails as endgame. If it is too hard, then the player fails to meet its challenge.

That I can accept, but I play for fun, not to beat the game.

The problem lies in the fact that many players equate the latter with the former aaaaand just don't have the skill level being claimed by the OP.

Thus GGG's eternal quandary...for whom do they balance endgame?
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
