When a person has ''top tier'' gear

So the guy didnt understand the mechanics of one of the hardest fights in the game and all of a sudden hes got to be an RMTer?

Its .People like you .... that automatically jump to conclusions and assume the worst of others without hard evidence.

It's possible he RMTed...

or its just as possible he used to play before Atziri was released and therefore was not expecting her to be so tough.... and just so you know anyone who RMTS can google how to beat a fight.... if anything the fact that he was having trouble probably just proves that he WASNT RMTing.. and maybe was not the best skilled player but just very lucky and managed to win the lottery a few times which would explain his skill:gear ratio.

My point is you can not just go and judge whomever you wish based on a few assumptions.. .. you know what they say about people who assume right?

there is a tiny difference here in how he described the scenario

a guy with a build that became popular (low life spectral throw) within a timeframe where atziri was freshly released was smart enough to trade for all the mirrors but not smart enough to watch any video about it?

if the story is true at all i'd say 100% RMT
@kussekurt it's ok, man.
that "you" wasn't really directed at you, as well.
just an abstract term to make a point, in my own crazy way.

the point is, I love so many things about the game. I truly do.
but at the same time I. fucking. hate being forced to trade. being forced to "brute force" RNG by pretty much bot-farming content instead of actually playing it and progressing with it, crazy badass challenge by crazier challenge.
GGG love it, though. and "you" (read: trade-lords and grind-MF-culler-multi-client-farmers) love it too, apparently.

but... don't you wish it was different in that regard? not a bit? being able to know skill at the game's actual ARPG mechanics rather than "other" mechanics, actually matters?
having the game use "face THIS!" challenges that encourage you to constantly get better, rather than "roll dice one more time" Casino tactics, which just drive me insane?

it doesn't have to be like this.
hell, it's not like this in most games that have close family ties to Path Of Exile, by definition.
so why on Earth does a game that gets so many ARPG elements so damn right, get loot so. damn. wrong?

and yeah, I actually got my answer from a random guy in feedback.
the guy said, GGG have to make you trade and party, to viably sustain their financial model.
don't make me feel better.
not a bit.

In PoE you can challenge yourself if you want, by rolling difficult maps (cheapest way is to vaal them). But it's pointless, because the benefits of doing this are too marginal or non-existent. You are better off playing easy maps, that can be cleared 2x faster / safer. Quantity over quality.

I dont think this will ever change. With the huge amount of different builds (=dynamic), you can't provide proper difficulty/reward with static content. One or several builds will always faceroll given content X. And this will leak into the global economy causing stock markets to crash.
