1.3 Life Based "Shatter Chuck Lite" Barrage - CoC build (updated the tree)

Which Gems i should use when i only have a 4 or 5 link Armor ?

I was trying to craft some wands earlier in the league and managed to get a decent CoC wand and here I am. 6L my voll's last week.



currently lv79, kinda lazy to level up. This build is ok but not without some issues to iron out, namely the lack of mana and hp

regarding the optimal APS, i believe the calculation to be as such:
0.05s (CoC cooldown) means 20 hits per second
with gmp barrage (8 hits), that works out to be 2.5 barrage per second
so whatever APS your wand is, coupled with the increased attack speed from the tree, barrage aps should not cross the 2.5 mark.

Scold's bridle might seem like the go to item for this build but using it puts a strain on the rest of the item slots(i.e. 2xrings, ammy, boots, belt), 5 items to squeeze all that resist, hp, accuracy, mana leech etc

Hi im just using this build now, I'm wondering what crit chance you have as with a 11% wand i only have around 65. Find im dropping HP when coc isnt proccing etc.

My current gear here. Not really positive what I'm missing, I guess spell damage? My ice spear does maybe 1.5k with 6 charges. Can't check right now, I'm at work. My crit is 91% with charges. My main issue I guess is survivability. I've got around 3.2k hp, 2k eva and around 1.5k armor. Is that normal for this build? What should I look to upgrade? I've got a second Voll's with the colors I'm working on 6 linking, until then I'm stuck with 1 spell.

I'd reccomend leveling your gems first, what level are you? And which passive's did you follow. I dont think this build is made soley for maps.

I have a few questions before buying the remaining gear I need to start this build:

1) For mapping and normal Atziri runs, is 2% leech from Doryani's and a crafted wand enough? I'd love to drop life leech if I could

2) Should I try to keep my APS below 2.3, or does it really matter that much?

3) With life being lower in 1.3, and having no energy shield, it doesn't seem that hard to use Righteous Fire all the time. Couldn't you drop vaal pact, get 90%+ Fire resist with Rise of the Phoenix or just flasks, use Vitality aura, and use Fireball + Firestorm for your spells?

4) Do people find it better to craft their wand, or just buy it? I'm sitting on a mountain of ALTS, but some items just have too many garbage mods to craft them. Are wands with high Crit / Attack speed easy to craft?

Hmm i did not know that the attack speed was an issue with this build, with nodes and some AS on gear i went over 2.8 aps with only 1.5 wand. Do you think i should drop as many nodes as i can to go below 2.3?

Great thanks! I'll see how many nodes i have to drop to go that low, or if i have a wand thats slower with similar stats to my imbued. Hmm just dropped a lot of as nodes and im sitting at 2.3 APS (i dont want to drop other AS nodes as they add to either crit or accuracy, hope this will do. (im wearing rats nest and maligros hence the speed)

If you drop to 2.2 aps you will definitely increase your dps. The 50ms cooldown is broken somewhere between 2.3 and 2.4 aps. So it's safest to just stick to 2.2 aps to be sure.

At 2.8 aps you have max 4 cast on crits per barrage. If you drop to 2.2 aps you will have max 8 cast on crits per barrage.

This will be roughly a 30% dps increase for you. 50% more possible crits but each barrage will take about 20% longer. Hence 30% gain.

I tried 2 Arc gems and I didn't notice any difference at all in clear speed compared to just 1 arc gem and the 2nd slot empty. But when I did two Ice spear I saw it was shooting twice as many. Is Arc just messed up, or doesn't proc well with double gems maybe?


And has anybody tried Fireball + Firestorm as their skill combo? I don't have either right now, but they both seem pretty strong.
