Another Stash Tab Bundle weekend .... Sigh !!!
I have a backlog from Domination, Nemesis, Ambush, Invasion... I think I cleared everything from Onslaught. I dont use these tabs for trading, as I dont trade in Std. at all. At this point its too late to clan stuff, as it would take days to sort it. There might be gear I'll still want to try some day, or legacy stuff that doesnt exist anymore, or gear that could be made GG now with master crafting, whatev.. it would take days of "office work" to sort things.
The way this change was implemented - you have no way of choosing which tab gets converted - is another half-baked solution from GGG. The game is already permeated by half-baked solutions and stuff that should have the label "warning: beta" on it. I will not support this by buying more tabs. Not until the user can choose which tabs get converted. When night falls

" GGG sells stash tabs. GGG gave you remove only tabs when leagues merged. GGG lets you buy out those remove only tabs that you didnt want to clean out yourself. I gotta agree with GGG. Their game, their rules. Dont like it, dont buy stash tabs or clean the stash and buy empty ones. |

" Yeah, major logic fail there. First sentence: "GGG sells stash tabs". By the third sentence, they are no longer doing so but offer something else in its place? Of course, by the last sentence you do have something of a point again, except for the whole "you can't sort stash tabs if you have no space, and now you can't buy space" issue that gets mentioned repeatedly and ignored. I have finally given in and bought tabs under the new system in the hope it would help me sort some of the remove only tabs and start getting rid of them, and it did a little, but nowhere near as much as fresh tabs would have. But in the meantime I've put off that purchase for quite a while, and probably wont bother with any more purchases for the forseeable future since now I know how little a new system stash tab purchase is actually worth. |

So people are basically admitting that they use temporary tabs as sort of permanent storage tabs and are now angry that GGG wants to prevent that? Somehow I don't really empathize with your 'problem'. I also wouldn't hold my breath and expect things to change.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" +1 People having 3 times more temporary tabs than normal ones are.. bit cheap. And it is all used to trade anyway.. |

" They are defined as remove-only tabs, not temporary tabs. Remove-only tabs can be used for "long-term" or "permanent" storage, yes, because nowhere is defined that they cant. This is the design that GGG set at start and they should stick to it. For anyone that has a backlog of 20+ remove-only tabs, there is no reason to buy new tabs, because all you get now is what you already have - occupied space. The fact that you cant even choose which tabs gets converted, additionally makes this change look forced and non-user-friendly. Nothing worth supporting with your money. When night falls

Again and again, I see people mentioning the very difficult issue of not being able to buy empty stash tabs into which they can then sort the logjam of full Remove-Only tabs, and again and again I see other people rush to judge them for being cheap or lazy because they then do not clean out their remove-only tabs.
Before this change, I was a premium Stash Tab junkie. I'd buy 'em constantly. I actually reached 100 plus the original 4 (also upgraded to Premium). When it became clear that I would no longer be able to buy new, empty tabs into which to sort leftovers from lapsed leagues, I decided that I no longer had a use for more tabs. Not incidentally, it also became a disincentive to participate in a new league. Not a major one; I will still play in a new league which presents aspects compelling enough to draw me into a new economy, but I will balance the notion of having, once again, to sort a plethora of tabs (potentially numbering as high as 104 MORE) with whether or not a new league also looks like fun. I have cleared out my ROs, a monumental task which took many hours out of my game time without empties into which to sort, and now I am committed never to let myself fall into that trap, again. For that, I am grateful, as the monkey of PSTs is now off my back. But GGG will never sell me another tab, and I am reasonably sure that I am not the only one. As for those of you who so gleefully (mis)judge those of us who found this whole, new arrangement irksome and burdensome, just because you don't use your tabs the way we do doesn't give you the right to talk smack to us. GGG changed the system to address some (as yet unspecified) technical issue, and then rather lamely painted the change as somehow to our benefit. It was not, and has created problems for many of us who merely wished to play the game as we chose, and to support GGG. Now, if we articulate our frustration, we are labeled as "hoarders," "cheap," "lazy," and such. That's not helpful. It's also against forum policy, and it might just get your posts reported. ='[.]'= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

" Admitting? It was supposed to be some sort of secret? GGG originally said they would last forever in much the same language as they said characters in Standard League would last forever. How would you feel if one day making a new Rampage character overwrote a random Standard character of similar class and level? I'm sure the resulting forum complaints would be filled with all the "but standard is worthless" or "but it only takes me half an hour to get a new character to maps" replies that come up whenever Standard League is mentioned. Of course, compared to something like suddenly announcing permanent leagues are not permanent or similar, the change to tab purchase system is hardly a big deal, and I'm not arguing GGG aren't within their rights to do so. I just think it's a pretty bad decision which was snuck in deceptively and has actively discouraged me from further donation, which is quite the opposite of what I usually see from GGG. Personally, I would rather not use them as permanent storage. But I, like MOST PLAYERS, are not actively playing when temporary leagues end, and when returning to the game after a break spending a week sorting stashes with very limited working space is generally not what I want to spend the first week back doing, but rather something I figure I'll get around to eventually. Ditto to what Ray said up there. Thanks, Ray :)
I've always thought that buying tabs should relieve one of the tab reorganizing time sink, not make it worse. Can't figure out why GGG decided it would be a good idea to change what was working fine already. :P (120 premium tabs here) |

If it had been working fine, they would not have changed it.
We don't know the details, but we do know that they changed it, so it is safe to assume that something no longer worked "just fine". |
