how tough and manly you are about grinding irrelevant content

You.Don't.Understand.This.Genre.

Game is based on D2, everyone knows that right? Good. D2 you had 2 options, baal runs or cow runs. TWO!

Like I said, you just don't enjoy grinding. You want more new content and never want to be over the level of what you are playing. That's fine. Make new characters to play around with builds, you'll enjoy it more. End game in ARPGs is about minmaxing characters and grinding until you want to stab your eyes out. You grind to afford/find perfect gear or achieve a high lvl. Both things need to be earned through a time investment.

If that doesn't interest you then this is flat out the wrong game for you. Whether you are farming lunaris 3, docks, city or maps, it will be a long, dull and boring grind. There will reach a point eventually where you can faceroll the entire game, which is a good thing, reason why many people play, if that's not your thing you are just in the wrong place.

I'm NOT happy with the map system in it's current state but most of the recent suggestions aren't the problems with maps. You guys are just impatient or don't want to buy maps, whatever. I plan on giving more feedback on maps but I know at this time GGG has alot of issues that are more important, like working on having stable servers, to deal with maps.

First tier maps get really boring really quick once you have ran over a 100 of them...

Well I guess we're not even there yet because we're not tough enough to beat the epic challenge of RNG map drops. Once I get there (probably by level 78 or so) I'll make sure to provide some feedback on the difficulty of level 66 areas.

Actually from the few maps I've done, it's way too easy. The endgame is just another grindfest rewarding moosifers who think being hardcore is directly proportional to time invested (funny he'd accuse me of thinking like a mmo player when he's the biggest proponent of "stfu and grind moar"), and does not involve actually beating challenging content that's hard to survive in. At least not in the maps I've seen. But maybe it's because I'm level 74 doing maps that are level 66, in this genius RNG-based access system.

Yeah I always thought it was kind of weird that by the time you get enough maps to run them solo without worrying about running out you are WAY over the map content level and it just starts to get as static as the rest of the game.

I definitely feel the whole system could use some tweaks. But I can't say exactly what yet, I haven't started maps in OB.

Is your IQ even in the double-digits? I'm genuinely curious.
I'm not asking for MORE CONTENT. I'm asking the CURRENTLY AVAILABLE endgame content to present an actual challenge, and not just the challenge of however long it takes to grind a map drop. Do you grasp that concept or are you just that retarded?

You know, the kind of challenge where it takes skill, mental dexterity, good build planning, the things we used to attribute to hardcore gamers before "hardcore" started being equal to "grind moar fgt" which you are so proudly flying the banner of.

I don't see how ARPG and challenging content are mutually exclusive, excuse the fuck out of me for wanting stuff that's interesting in a game I'm playing. Holy shit.

Yes, insult me some more, repeat the same thing because I didn't understand it. Please continue, you really make a great case for your cause.

Clearly you're not understanding much of what I'm saying if you think I'm asking for more content.

I can tell you it was worse than maps!

Had to collect 9 keys, which took forever, to spawn one zone, that would drop one item, that was almost always a shit low end roll that was worth nothing.

I actually think that's the confusion with maps currently. The end of act 3 is high enough to level to a respectable level, one could easily get to 80 in a week w/o ever touching a map. So most casuals will get to 80 w/o issues in a month depending on how often they play.

With those areas being higher lvl we are all kinda lost on maps. They aren't HARD to get into (don't listen to noob, he's just being shit all over by RNG) maps but it's not really that easy either. The progression to 75s is pretty hard to hold onto as well.

I think with the layout of merci they intend for maps to be more optional but again, too easy to get into and people will gravitate towards whatever is most effective.

My suggestion, bring all the side areas in merciless back down. Make them maybe 10-25% more common. Basically so the average player has about 3-4 by lvl 70. Or keep the areas the same, raise the map lvls to 68-70 and lower map drop rates so the average player would only have 3-4 by lvl 80.

This in the middle feeling is just leaving alot of people frustrated. Also people just don't see optional areas in merciless as viable farming areas. I keep saying all those side areas should be lvl 63 or fall in line with the connecting area. No one wants to farm 61 ship graveyard cave over lunaris because the exp/item/map drop difference. If they are all 63, the message that they are designed for farming becomes loud and clear.

I have gotten to level 73 without ever stepping into end-game map. I'm now nearly 75, 10% away, who tried 4 maps altogether. I noticed that my experience gain was better than what I could attain in Docks--solo or in party.

I have 12 lvl66 maps and 2 lvl67 maps in my stash from the grind to nearly 75. I got 3 maps, including those 2 lvl67, from last Crypt map.

I still enjoy Docks area with its open space, good visibility and enemy types to my liking.

I would love to see few more areas in Act3 to be suitable for grinding until lvl80, however, im all good with the current situation as long as I get some experience toward my goal.

I think that putting a lvl66 map with 40% drop chance on last boss of a map could be a decent solution. It would not give you a map every time but it would be very common to get at least one from full-clear.
