As a little shopkeeper I get this now and then as well.
However do not ignore them.

After they realise they can't find it cheaper anyway they still might buy it for b/o.

A guy offered me 5c for a q18gem (shop price 25c)
I just answer "srry no, gl man"

The next day he may offer 20c which seems more acceptable.
You'd never know if u ignored them

Problem is the way he spoke is just too unfriendly and annoying.

it's excessive bargain practices popular in some countries (i will not list them to avoid issues)

what you can do instead of being frustrated is to have fun with that:

buyer- Hey bro you sell this chest for 1 ex 28 chaos ? i have 30c offer it's good no ?
seller- Sry im not trading it for 30c
buyer- Cmon bro it's just a shit chest and ... (blabla..)
seller- Ok new price 2.5 ex.
buyer- What ? listen i can do 35 chaos but it doesnt worth more bro and ... (blabla..)
seller- Ok new price 3 ex.
buyer- [Cries] and eventually insults [report if insults]
=> have fun and laugh, instead of getting victimized.

So you provoke people and then get them muted? Must be nice trading with you.
I've seen allot of lowballers lately as well. I guess considering the leagues merged allot of people think the prices are still up to par as when they played ambush 2 months ago.

I just try to explain that its the market value(I even price it under market value!) but most don't get it. As someone mentioned I always try to reason with them and explain why its expensive, sometimes they still pay up or come back to your when they realize your right :).

You talk about market value as if there are no individual prices for everything in this game. You might think a kaoms chest is worth a few ex well if i dont have a few ex but a bunch of chaos or alchs its worth to me a few of those, thats it.
Well bartering is part of trading. Rudeness however is not.

If someone is nice and friendly I often make him a better price. Fortunatly there aren't that many friendly and polite people out there so I rarely have to do this.

I don't really care if they aren't willing to pay my price. It is how they inform me that they aren't willing to pay it.

When I don't want to pay the offered price I normally drop the people a note with my price noticing them that if they don't find someone and decide to sell cheaper we could most likely agree on a price thats fair for both.

Someone sold a Midnight Bargain for 1,5ex which I wanted and I talked to him and after a while he sold it to me for 30 chaos, because I most likely was the only person who told him in a nice way that I don't want to pay that much.

If you are asking for a price that nobody wants to pay (even if other people ask for the same price) you simply have to go down. If somebody pays it who cares if there are others not paying it. If they are friendly, nice maybe you can agree with them, if they are unfriendly ignore them.

There are rude people on both ends of the spectrum.
It's rude offering alchs on exalt item.
Do you really expect people to sell their kaoms to yo for 4 alch.

1:HI, wtb kaoms
2:ok np (party invite)
1:a1n
2:okay I pay 4alch? dont have 40 exalt

thats why i sold it for 1ex 26c to a nice guy. 2c less seem not much but for people like myself and the buyer is a lot.

After this traded, i only have 2ex and 10c in stock...you know that 2c is mean a lot to me...

True and what I said basically applies to both of them. But the topic was about someone who sold items. Of course there are also people who get really angry when you tell them that you aren't willing to pay 3ex and offer them 2,5ex instead. But it is basically the same.

A few days ago someone pmed me if I can sell him 3 reduced mana-gems because he traded with me before. So if people remember you as a fair trader they might even ask you for trades without any effort on your side. Exspecially if they want something fairly quickly they sometimes even offer good prices.

yeh had this too with lvl 20 gems.

Sold him 1

10 min later he asked for 2 more.

seems 1ex is fair price for lvl 20 gem.

I actually gave him discount without him asking for it.
