Minion damage + ignite double scale?

Just to be sure is projectile damage considered a "type" of damage (ele, melee, etc) or "source" of damage (minion, trap)? Are generic projectile damage increases considered attack/spell modifiers?
As Mark pointed out, there are only four base types/sources: Attack, Spell, Secondary and DoT. Everything else is a subtype.

It's pretty simple to figure out beyond that: If a modifier can apply to both Attacks and Spells, it's a subtype, and can also apply to Secondary Damage and Damage over Time.

Increased Projectile Damage applies to your Attacks and your Spells -> it is not a base type -> it can also apply to Secondary/DoT.

minion is a different entity, your mods have no effect on them (unless clearly stated otherwise)

the only damage types in game are those mentioned in dev post (spell, attack, DoT, secondary). Every damage you deal is one of the four, but not the other

projectile damage is specific for projectiles, but can be any of the four types:

attack: Lightning Arrow, Split arrow, Barrage, Spectral Throw,...
spell: Fireball, Arctic breath, Ball lightning,...
DoT: Poison cloud from Poison Arrow, bleed effect from Puncture (when applied with a bow), burn from ignite (when caused by a projectile)
Secondary: explosion from Explosive arrow

Edit: Viper-ninjad :)

Ok, thanks guys.
I probably shouldn't hijack but since thread is on a similar track..

Does this means that Bow Puncture's Bleed will also scale from Increase Projectile/Physical Damage and also Physical Projectile Attack Damage gem?

And the same for Melee Puncture with it's respective nodes/gems?

PPAD is explicitly Attack Damage, hence the A there. Attack and DoT are both base types, and thus the multiplier is incompatible.
Puncture applied by a Bow Attack does benefit from Increased Projectile Damage, yes.
Bleed is always Physical Damage over Time, so it always benefits from Increased Physical Damage.

Id like to add that when a modifier says "weapon damage" or damage "with weapon" it allways refers to Attacks (as they are being made with weapons)

Here's a list of what can modify the DoT for Puncture posted by Daniel: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/22694/filter-account-type/staff/page/2

Note that the physical damage listed is only generic physical damage, not physical attack or melee physical, etc.

Sorry, I'm a bit late to this thread. What about Lava Lash (30% increased fire damage with weapons). Does this scale burning damage?

No, 'weapon' damage is a subset of 'attack' damage, and burning is damage over time, not attack damage.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
