Its a little deeper than that. Reminds me of the pants threads in CB.
But people who prefer to trade have hard time understanding those that find it offensive to their enjoyment of the game.
Just as some are fixated on ladders or wealth. Others are not.
But there is no need of a SF league. I play SFO and have since I joined in CB. What needs to change is crafting.
Not greater drops or more godly gear, but the reasonable expection that you can make decent enough gear to continue forward.

Agree with most of this.

Although I don't see there actually being an issue with 'gear to continue forward'.
And I think one of the best 'fixes' to crafting would incorporate more access to certain orbs.
And additionally, the binding of certain orbs and/or their use and their product, would be the logical thing to do, but not in PoE. Logic doesn't factor here.
Other than that.

And there's plenty of room for both in a game like this. People wanting a selffound league are basically asking not to be exluded from the game they want to play just because of a different preferred playstyle without ruining your league. Because they get the feeling that the Dev's are pushing the trading system by restricting the game and don't like it.
Imho, people that like trading just don't understand it's not the lack of skill, just a dislike for the trading system that makes SF more interesting.
Let me respond with a quote.

No one has been able to argue against this fact yet. You can just SF in the league you're in right now. The gist of the real thing you want is for everyone else to have to play by your rules as well.
I guarantee every single person who argues for a SFL is from Diablo 3 and they got spoiled on the tailored drop system and now they can't handle playing video games without being hand-held or given drops specific to them.
Lazy lazy lazy. This is exactly what happened in W.o.W. after Burning Crusade with everyone demanding their welfare epics.

That makes no sense at all. How does an optional league affect everyone? It doesn't. You either choose to play it or you don't.

The whole you can play self found now makes no sense in light of what people are really asking for. Are there ladders for it? Is the game built for self found at all? Then playing self found in the current leagues isn't really what people are asking for now is it?

First off this game has had Allocated loot drops for a long time now, what exactly does that have to do with the trade system? If your going to complain about allocated drops then go ahead and do that. I am on the forums a lot and I virtually never see anyone complain about it.

Lazy in a video game? Are you being serious with that? How is wanting to play the game instead of trading being lazy? I would think it would be more lazy to easily be able to trade for any item in the game any time you want.

I want an SFL so I can compete against other SF players on the ladders.. Problem?

Of course there is no need for a selffound league. Just like there is no need for difficulty selections in Tetris. It's just nice to have options to play around with and have the game suit more than one playstyle if it isn't a problem for the developer to add those options (Would it be difficult to add a Self found league? I don't know).

Translation: "Shut up and accept it because everything's fine for me." I'd bet you haven't ever tried to view the topic from someone's perspective that wants a SFL. If you don't even try to understand why players want this league how do you expect to make an argument against it? Also, why would you even argue against it? Just cause? How would it affect you if others had more options that you don't care about?

Here you are very wrong. SFL Supporters are trying to get an option to have a better game for them without affecting your league. Otherwise they would just lobby for balance changes in the leagues everyone plays in. It's you that can't stand others having a piece of your cake. You want everyone to play by your rules instead of giving others options.

Again, wrong. Self found was already very popular in Diablo 2, and players that played Diablo 2 expected to continue to play this way in Diablo 3 (lol AH), and/or PoE. So much for your guarantees. Gheed had better ones.

The only thing that's lazy are your arguments. And not thinking about what others want before trying to figure out if it's good/bad easy/hard to implement.
For the record, i am not even sure if i would want a SFL because there's no general opinion about rebalancing according to the new rules. But i am at least willing to consider new options and talk about them. You should, too. Keep an open mind, friends.

Game isn't build for SF, because it has no system seen in D3. As simple as that. Building a game around idea of SF will result in... you guess it, D3. We have one D3 already, and I doubt we need another one. You've seen what happened to D3 - it became boring with its raining-with-legendaries thing, same would happen in SFL in PoE. Not to mention it would be almost impossible to pull it out in PoE, due to not specialized classes. Never learn, huh?

His point is - you are being frustrated with no wealth accumulation over time, thus you want it to be easier. You also can't/don't want to trade because "reasons". This is what happened to TBC - people couldn't get their epic gear because Raids were HARD and required some skill and organisation, so people were screaming on forums for "more accessible" content. What WoW ended up with are close to solo-able instances presenting close to no difficulty. THIS is what you are asking for. You just didn't notice yet.

@Perq
I would be perfectly happy to play POE SFL with NO OTHER CHANGES. No loot buffs. No crafting changes. Nothing but trading removed entirely.
Your whole 'game would turn into d3' argument is a total lie. That is all.
