There is nothing irrational about Snorkle's opinion. It might not be right, but it certainly is not irrational. I think, more likely, you're just a sad little troll.

@Witt: I can't disagree with your premise; there are certainly some features of PoE that are incredibly unfun. I do (did) my best to willfully ignore them, but they creep back up on you sometimes (like attempting to craft a really, really freakin' simple +1 fire scepter at the beginning of Ambush and dropping close to an exalted's worth of jewelers, fuse, and chroms to get R-R-B links; it was absurd and severely un-fun for an item I might use to power level for ~20 levels).

I'm sorry to see you, Charan, and WorldBreaker go. I hope to see you around sometime :D You were often one of a few rational voices amidst a sea of madness.

BS snorkle is a white knight plain and simple, he is completely irrational. So are the rest of the white knights that have plagued this forum for the last 2 years running off tons of people in the process.

Good job helping the downfall of the game even faster, your not doing the game any favors by running everyone else that is not in the "little" cliche out.

Your world seems to be completely black and white. You also always attack the person, never his point. And you seem very bitter about the game. Maybe get a new hobby? :p
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
So his main points are that the orb system is an overly complicated gold system and that the skill tree is a superfluous version of a skill tree? While I agree with the orb point (although I dont see how it is a bad thing.... let alone a #1 reason to quit) and would strongly disagree with the skill tree point, I don't get how either is a number 1 and 2 reason to quit?

Nothing to see here, just another player getting bored as the 4 month leagues wind down trying to stir up his own drama thread. Next time try to make up some better reasons though (hint: try digging up the usual self found league drivel that the leading forum haters use).

See you when the next mini expansion comes.

this quote, and the person it comes from...
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun
Hello, old friend! Long time no see. How have you been? Still up to your usual antics I see. As well, I see you still haven't learned the proper art of trolling.

Oh well, maybe next time. Hang in there, pal; you'll get it eventually. I believe in you!

Spoiler
It's funny that a so called "white knight" would post so much criticism. It's almost scandalous!

Edit: @Splift, in re: skill tree: I don't exactly agree with Witt's opinion of the skill tree, yet cannot fully disagree either. Path of Exile is a game of resource scarcity. That is, the sum of your available resources are expected to compete in order to overcome various inadequacies, and those inadequacies are punished quite severely if not met properly. This is, in my opinion, the core design concept that makes Path of Exile awesome. At the same time, it is driven to such an extent and in such a way that balance post-optimization has raised the bar on those expectations, and builds are therefore expected to be more optimized. This leads to the "Path of Life Nodes," etc, or wherever the next swing of the pendulum takes us. Successful builds are consequently restricted to a smaller quantity of efficiently optimized paths, and therefore allowed fewer branching alternatives than the initial "sandbox" impression would provide.

How does this reply have anything to do with my post?

He seemed to be complaining that the skill tree (web, forest, whatever) is actually a farce and could be accomplished by doing what other games do, ie: branching skill tree and presumably attribute points. My point was that this is really a lame complaint. Basically he is arguing that they put a new coat of paint on an old system (although I disagree) and using such a shallow and meaningless argument as his #2 reason to quit.

The game is not playable solo self found all the way into end game unless you literally have no life or no responsibilities. This is just a matter of fact.

Thats not true. People beat Dominus in Mericless with full blue gear. If you play searing bond, there is literally no any gear requirements except the usual life/resist stuff and a sceptre which you can craft yrself easily. You can reach maps without doing a single trade. Thats a matter of fact!

Atziri is another story.

The game pushes you to trade, either you trade, or you proceed at a pace that is slow as molasses and is basically not fun.

What is fun and what not each one has to decide himself. If someone doesnt want to trade he needs to be prepared to progress slower as someone who is exachanging items with other players. Btw, progressing slow is nothing bad. There is no rule that games needs to be rushed through to have fun with it.

End game is Aztiri and Uber Aztiri. Entry level maps is bullshit easy. Searing Bond loses its pace around 74 maps, that's when it drops off in damage significantly where it becomes slow as shit to clear a map.

Not to mention, at this point you have to trade for currency to continue going up in map levels, otherwise you will proceed at a molasses rate. You will need maximum life rolls on every piece of gear to survive the amount of burst end game. You need overcapped resistances. You need etc. etc. etc.

Try playing all the way to Aztiri solo self-found and you will likely claw out your eyes.
